    As a FOH audio engineer that thing is totally something to keep in your kit for that very purpose for when an amp decides to kick the bucket. I bought one just for a lark a few years ago and it is something has proved useful. I was doing a festival and one of the acts were friends of mine and the lead guy his amp hadn't arrived for the first set. I grabbed my pedal board dropped it on the stage jammed the XLR in to the output of the DI which is on the end of the pedal chain and sent it back down to the monitors. It worked just like an amp.

    More people should see this review. Not only does it do the product justice by using it through a p.a., but your playing is great!

    Great playing. I really like your demo as you showed usable amp setting. I already have overdrive distortion etc...I like most people want an amp simulator to plug in direct. Thanks! Great demo.

    Love the intro. And the black Strat.

      Thanks. The black strat is a 1976 hardtail. It's one of the lightest strats I've ever played.

    Cool! Great taste for guitars... because I have a bullet truss rod strat just like yours, mine is a 79 with an 80s maple neck ... 3 bolt and all. Thanks for the review, checking the GDI21 sounds for a trade.

    Great to see you run the simulator clean and run some pedals into the thing. Great demo and sounds!!! Definitely getting one of these!

    Have you tried to put the modulation and time-based pedal before gdi21 in a signal chain order? If you did, what’s the end result? 🤘🤘🤘

      I have not. Fortunately, I have never had to use it. I keep it around only as an emergency fix for loss of an amp.

    Hi Bob, what settings did you have on the GDI21? Amp,Gain, Mic placement etc. Nice demo thanks.

      Wow, I don't remember. It's in a case with the band gear. Next gig I'll see where the knobs are set. I haven't used it since that video. My plan is to have it as a backup if my amp dies.

      @@TheGiggingGuitarPlayer Thanks Bob. I've had one for a few years for the same reason as you. I checked it worked thru my guitar amp when I got it but never tried it or had to use it thru a PA. I'm thinking Tweed,Clean,mic centre to match my Musicman 65RP combo.

    Will it boost the volume of my single hum bucket jazz guitar? Still confused if it raises the volume or not.

      It can raise the volume. Turning the level control past the halfway point raises the volume to my ears.

    Hi you recomend this pedal for live gigs ??? Thanks .

    • @hage713
      @hage713 3 года назад

      For me it is only a backup in case of an amp failure. I got it after having two amp failures in a month. I could easily get thru the night with this if the venue had decent monitors, but I much prefer an actual amp.
