Not true. When it starts making money, they have more leverage. Then it’s 10x harder to get permission to use it. It happened with the song 90mph and the guy got sued for 100% of the earnings, which was $900,000. Very bad advice.
@@LegacyBeats who? ive seen this go down a couple times and it was never a problem. you call them up, give them a percent and its over. if theres an issue, theres other samples, session musicians, ect. again, were talking about money music. 50k views on some streaming platform is not money. besides, how lame is it to outright sample something in full and not play with it past the point of recognition. if thats how youre sampling you deserve to get sued. i dont know if they sued your boy based on his sales, but if he got near a million, someone slipped up. more reasons you need a real team and diy is a myth. theres plenty of time to get things settled before it gets there. youd know this if you had experience.
