I just bought Blackstar EL34 and it’s a killer amp! The clean channel with big headroom especially, throwing couple pedals in front works really great!
Thanks buddy! It's such a good guitar, I end up using it all the time. I also really enjoy the thicker strings with the D standard tuning on this guitar. Cheers //Kris
I'm glad to see the Line 6 Catalyst getting some credit. I bought one when they first released and I love it. Such a good pedal platform with the clean channel, but the boutique and dynamic settings are great too.
All of these amps sound really really great. I've been very close to buying the US cub many times. I have the superblock US and I think it sounds really amazing.
Amazing playing guys. Great reviews. What amps were you guys playing through in the very beginning? The piece you guys played together sounded amazing. What is the blue guitar too? Thanks awesome job!
Harley benton dnafx (pedal board version) amplified by a Harley benton power amp GPA 100 (100 watts) through a Harley benton cab vintage (Celestion V30, very nice). It's a cheap and versatile solution, perfect for home practice and more. After 25 years playing on different amps i definitly recommend this to any guitarist.
Im enjoying the new boss duel cube bass. The built in drums are good for practice and the portability of it is awesome. I use it all over the house and when I'm in the studio I plug it into a katana bass 210 for a full sound. I would enjoy the katana bass more but it needs a firmware update out the box to use the app features.
You are a couple of days late with that video my friends. lol. Just received your delivery with my new VOX AC30S1. The Marshall would've been my preferred choice. But I'm sure, once I've plugged in that VOX as soon as I got home, I will not regret a thing :D Great Video as always. Love the Barosci Jazzmaster.
I know that this was not the price range within this video, however this year a pinnacle in amp build was released which is to me the PRS HDRX 50 (or 100). It would have been worth to be at least mentioned.
Those are amazing amps and yes, a very interesting release indeed! Unfortunately they were not in stock for many many weeks and we were not able to grab one for the video. Also, as you mentioned the price of it is pretty high so it will naturally not become a top seller. Still, I would've loved having it in the video, already for the (well deserved) hype factor. Cheers //Kris
I just cannot understand why blackstar has such a controversial reputation. In all the demos and reviews their tube amps sound absolutely stunning. The designers worked for Marshall. The new Amped 1 sounds epic. And yet, there’s this bitter rumor of “yeaaah, all tube, but they also use some sort of solid state and therefore meh”. which makes me kinda sad.
i had a wee blackstar 1 watt it sounded good but the hum was terrible , i rang blackstar about it and they were just rude .and arrogant i am now anti blackstar .
"full tube" in case of Blackstar is a stretch. There's so much solid state circuitry, all surface mounted - I am not saying it sounds bad. But people need to be aware they are buying a sophisticated device, that construction-wise has very little to do with traditional "full tube" amps. You cannot easily repair or mod them and their longevity is a big question mark. Forget about buying a 20 years old Blackstar, the same way as you would buy an old Fender amp. These modern amps are NOT made to last for ages. Again, is it a bad thing? No unless you are aware of this. P.S. Same with modeling tech - great piece of hardware as long you are covered by warranty and as long as it is in working condition.
That DSL40 Cream Ltd. looks amazing, but you don't mention in the video what speaker it comes with, and the speaker brand and model is not listed on the webstore website. It only states that it is a 1 x 12 speaker. And from the pictures in the ad, the speaker in the DSL40 Cream Ltd. does not look like the Celestine V-Type that comes in the regular (black) DSL40. What speaker comes with the DSL40 Cream Ltd?
Hey, according to the website the Cream LTD has this speaker: "12" G12 Vintage Celestion Loudspeaker (70 W, 16 Ohm)". And according to the Celestion website their only 70W "vintage" speaker is the V-Type ( -> vintage type). It looks like it has to be the same speaker in the Cream version as in the normal black combo. Cheers //Kris
My choice for 2022 is the Dumble ODS in Amplitube Tonex. My runner up would be the UAFX Dream. ... all through a Blueamps Junior EX, which pushes real air compared to the studio monitors.
Kris, your playing has gotten awesome. What guitar are you using and what pickups are in it - stock or custom. Enjoy all your vlogs - keep on rock’in! Chris
Thanks so much Chris!! As Paul said, it's my Harley Benton DIY offset guitar I built for this year's Thomann DIY Kit Challenge. I love it so much. The pickups are Mojotone P90s and they blew my mind. Cheers //Kris
//Kris
@Thomann's Guitars & Basses Would actually really love to see both of those mentioned ideas come to light! I'm sure many, many others would love that also. I'm sure there is a very big crowd of us, who watch here, that are super tone-hounds anyhow! 😬😆🤷♂️💯
The differences between the amps are marginal IMHO. My fave: the Quilter! I bought a Quilter Aviator Cub last year, and my quest for the ultimate amp is OVER!
I disagree with you guys, Don't like the Blackstar at all👎👎👎. The DSL was just ok so I would give it one 👍. The line 6 totally sucks ,👎👎👎👎👎👎. The Harley Benton was cool for what it is 👍. Not impressed with the Quilter either, it sounded better when you added the pedal but what's the point if you have to add a pedal? 👎👎👎
Hey, we played the amps with and without pedals to cover it all. If pedal players watch an amp test that doesn't show how they react to pedals, that's a 100% useless video for them. And many, many use pedals, so we show that too. Cheers //Kris
I love y'all's job I wish I had a job like it I love playing guitar and it's a great thing to be watching y'all Y'all keep it up keep on keeping on Merry Christmas
The Quilter is one killer amp, it can do so much more than shown here. The sound is unbelievably good.
Quilter ! They really make amazing stuff !
Such a nice playing in the beginning of the video! So soothing.
I just bought Blackstar EL34 and it’s a killer amp! The clean channel with big headroom especially, throwing couple pedals in front works really great!
It's so nice to see your DIY challenge JA kit guitar being put through frequent use, Kris! Very, very encouraging!
Thanks buddy! It's such a good guitar, I end up using it all the time. I also really enjoy the thicker strings with the D standard tuning on this guitar. Cheers //Kris
That Quilter :-OOO omg, that sounds AWESOME
I'm glad to see the Line 6 Catalyst getting some credit. I bought one when they first released and I love it. Such a good pedal platform with the clean channel, but the boutique and dynamic settings are great too.
I honestly wasn't expecting it to sound THAT good. Kudos to Line6! //Kris
Was on a James Bay concert 2 weeks ago here in germany and this just reminds me of how a great musician he is!
Totally! Bay is a superb musician and should be talked about much more in my opinion. Cheers //Kris
All of these amps sound really really great. I've been very close to buying the US cub many times. I have the superblock US and I think it sounds really amazing.
I dug them all, great playing Kris and Big-G
Thanks buddy! Much appreciated! 🙌
//Kris
First time listening to any of these amps. The black star and Marshall were music to my ears
All I need is my ADAMP1 pre amp with Alesis Quadraverb for my effects and my Carvin FET 450 power amp hooked to 2 separate 12-in custom cabs.
My Harley Benton Tube 15 with a Vintage 30 speeker is my favorit amp, espacialy with Kasleder King of Stone or Vintage King.
PRS HDRX 20 wins the title this year for me 🤘
Amazing playing guys. Great reviews. What amps were you guys playing through in the very beginning? The piece you guys played together sounded amazing. What is the blue guitar too? Thanks awesome job!
My favorite amp (that I also own) is the Two-Rock Studio Signature… definitely not cheap, but worth every penny.
You need to sell your arms to afford it. Now you can’t play😂

How about a Scatman Signature guitar for the next DIY Project
I'm really surprised not to see the HDRX 20 in this video.
What is it ?
@@alexdenton6586 It's the newer 20w version of the Hendrix Plexi by PRS.
Jamming on James Bay, great💜✌️🎸
Indeed! Thanks man! It was a spontaneous choice, haha! Cheers //Kris
The DSL 40 is a great amp....best here.
My favourite in this video is the line 6 catalyst but my favourite amp I own is the line 6 spider 2
Beautiful opening!
Thank you so much Ed! //Kris

The top 40 Amps of 2022: A Line 6 "Pod GO" into a Palmer "Macht". You don´t need anymore.
So, basically, I need to order a Quilter.
Aviator Mk3.
