    That accuracy on the back hand side was.... Well quite accurate. Gives you an idea of what professional squash is. And that iconic finishing by gawad was unbelievable. Great game.

    Poor video ref decision at 7-7. As much as Shorbagy tends to block, it wasn’t excessive in this situation and Gawad likely would not have retrieved the ball. Let safe call but better call is no let.

      @@user-br3fr9fd5i I think it's a matter of Elshorbagy doing it so often that it becomes obvious. The Elshorbagy Brothers are without a doubt two of the most streetwise (to put it kindly) players on world tour.

    It is so rare to see judges that can accurately gauge great players. Most judges don't begin to understand the level of these players and so never make stroke decisions like they should. We need to pay attention to the judges so we can be sure to vote them in to future tournaments. Who were the judges of this game?

    12:14 Gawad fell just short despite the collision. No let is out of the question here. Not sure about the stroke though. Should have been a yes let.
    14:50 Gawad was nowhere near Shorbagy here. The shot should have been taken. Shorbagy played a dirty trick here just to get a stroke. No respect for him.

    • @lewininja250r
      @lewininja250r 6 лет назад +2

      The one at 14:50 wasn't technically even a stroke. The ball hit Gawad. You can't complain about a decision when the ball hit him. Elshorbagy hadn't asked for a let at that point.

    Why do they always rally on their backhand rather than the forehand?

    • @damandarin5415
      @damandarin5415 6 лет назад +1

      Usually the backhand is the weaker side so they rally on that side to see if they can manage to slip their opponent up.

      @Johnster7107 6 лет назад

      Thats what i was thinking. Thanks!!!

    • @watching99134
      @watching99134 6 лет назад

      The backhand is more consistent/reliable but the forehand side is where you shoot from (backhand requires a torso twist).

    • @hellagood67
      @hellagood67 10 месяцев назад

      Actually the backhand is a more natural stroke play. You are hitting with your body, especially if you lead with your right leg (for a right handed player). For a forehand shot (right handed player) the shot goes across your body. Backhand shots are more accurate. Some of us are more powerful on our backhand too.

    Shorbagy still fishing in the middle. (on 7-9) Why are the refs still giving strokes for that? Abolutely no intention to play the ball whatsoever!!! I thought we were past this kind of play but he still keeps getting rewarded...

    • @TheHilarious91
      @TheHilarious91 6 лет назад +1

      A player can play the ball whenever he wants. Yes you can call that fishing but it's all within his rights to do so.

    • @CheapHomeTech

    In view of his current hirsute countenance, PSA Squash TV commentators really ought to change Gawad's moniker - babies don't tend to have much in the way of facial hair. Beardy-face Assassin would be much better.
