- Srilanka recently changed the VISA application process and transitioned from ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) to e-Visa.
Srilanka e-Visa is free for Indians till 30th April 2024.

@@rajnirami6642 [7:51] you only need to mention your arrival date and airport name for the E-Visa process. You can apply an e-visa first and then book the flight later on.

You can carry USD and you can get it exchanged from airport or hotel in Sri lanka.
You can get USD from thomascook or any bank in India
You can book your flights and then apply for VISA, just make sure you start the visa process atleast a month before

There's no restriction on adding applicants within a single application. However, service fees apply for each applicant included.

But I will recommend you to connect again with them before paying.

Yes, you need to apply standard tourist visa.
I don’t think there is any free waiver for standard visa for any age.

Yes, free visa is only applicable if you are travelling on or before 31 may.
I would recommend you to apply visa atleast 10 days before your departure

Have a query. Me n my co-traveller applies srilankan visa in vfs portal. That person got visa within 30mins and for me its been 4days and its still under check . And my travel is on 9th may . Do u have any idea if its okay to proceed to immigration and travel to Srilanka if visa is "UNDER CHECK"?? Or only if its confirmed i can travel?? :/
Noone is responding properly also. All my bookings are done and nothing is refundable :(

You need to take a printout of the approved evisa. You will not be allowed to board flight in absence of an approved visa.
Just keep on checking with vfs global.
One more small query please, if 60days evisa is under check.. Can i apply for 30 days visa and try? Or that is not a goid idea as same passport number twice might be an issue. ??

As per the FAQ section of vfs global, you can't apply for a new VISA till the existing VISA is expired. So, for your case this is written in the FAQ section
"If your E VISA application is not approved it will be referred to the nearest Sri Lanka Overseas Mission which you may contact for further assistance."
Sri lanka doesn't provide VOA facility. Earlier ETA was required but from 17 april 2024, they have changed ETA to eVISA

Transit visa is for short stay mostly for layovers and cruise trips. But please confirm this with your cruise company, as rules may change from time to time.

Please check the validity of your ETA. It must be written on your ETA. If it is valid than you can travel.

I contacted the customer service, they were very unhelpful. They stated that they only handle evisa and do not have any information about ETA. They stated we should contact the immigration department. But were unable to provide any phone number/link.
I'll update here about our progress so that others get the help they need.

You can check if there is an option to add 2 more applicants or not.
If you apply 3 visas individually then you need to pay convenience and service fee for all of them.
No Sri Lanka doesn’t provide VISA ON ARRIVAL for Indians.

I have applied for ETA using old website for my self and my wife. Now am unable to open the application to take a printout of approval notice. The tracking id which I have received is not working on the new website. On The immigration helpline number no one is answering the calls. Can you help me here?
Yes, this is an issue.
They have shut down the old website and not entertaining any queries related to ETA.

@@the.travellingtales yes I have tried calling them on helpline no one answered. But in their website luckily I found an airport immigration office number and they have answered the call, told me that I can travel with ETA approved notice.

You can check the total cost by filling up the form because there is an option to add applicants so maybe you need to pay the service fee once
I have filled and checked the visa fee with service charge is 58 usd and there is no option to add applicant
