Invincible season 2 just wrapped up, so of course I felt like talking about the Amazon Prime show's NOT Spider-Man character, Agent Spider. We need more of him!

With all due respect... They couldn't make a decent season with already written material (the comics), 8 episodes and 3 years... There's no way they would make a good show with another character.
I would say: absolutely yes. As long as they try not to go to the MCU’s post infinity saga or DCEU, have it just as good of the boys-verse, awesome world building, amazing writing, and directing. It would work as long as they know what they are doing. 🙂

The guy is just an alternate universe Spiderman, he even has the same voice actor as the Spectacular Spiderman, so this would be a spin off of the Spectacular Spiderman show

An Agent Spider show wouldn’t be too out of left field. TMNT started off as a parody of Daredevil yet still managed to stand out as its own thing

Yeah but Ninja Turtles was still different enough from daredevil besides a few similarities, Agent Spider is too derivative of Spiderman but it could still be made.
Completely different scenario. The TMNT were their own thing while this is obviously Spider-Man. In the comic it's the actual Spider-Man.
The difference is that TMNT wasn't a straightforward direct parody of Daredevil.
It was a parody of the comics at the time using Daredevil as an inspiration for some of the concepts.
They can make a spin off show for him only if J Jonah Jameson is the main antagonist and is secretly a Viltrumite

I talked with one of the producers of the invincible show during an event at SCAD, he said that they had a WHOLE BUNCH of ideas for spinoffs, but that it would all depend on Amazon being interested in dropping the dough. I really do think they'd do it without hesitation if money wasn't an issue.
Dough? So far they have been pretty cheap with what animation they have done. Only the gore is well done.
@@derekhofstetler3998 oh, as an animation major, the show is FULL of inconsistencies, there are scenes in which the backgrounds are super huge compared to the characters, compositing errors, etc. but that's not what I meant, what I meant was that Amazon would need to show interest in wanting to invest on more content once they're done with the source material. It's not that they're not currently getting paid well, it's that it's a contract by contract basis.

Evidently, Agent Spider is a Spider Man from a parallel universe and very ingenious of the writers for basically confirming that with dialogue while avoiding any legal landmines. He obviously talked about the overall Spider Verse with the line about knowing about other universes.
And that he’s had some recent dealings with them yes.
Multiverse stuff was a thing before spiderverse, in original comic Spider man referenced other thing.

He was also the Voice of the Spider character on Young Justice 😂
On one condition: the first episode is the Invincible team-up that happened in the comics, complete with renamed Avengers and Invincible trying to guess their names.
They could go for using Public domain superheros for the avengers after all they are canon to the invincible/image comics universe
Asking for a agent spider show is literally just asking for a good spider-man show, because agent spider feels like comic book spider-man when his comics were good, because thats whats he is based on, so we should just ask for a good spider-man show

I feel like in invincible I'd want Agent Spider to be a little different from Peter. Maybe have him not be as responsible maybe he'd actually ignore some crimes or hesitant to help out if it's just like bank robbers if he's with his universe Mary Jane. His priorities would be cases like Professor Ock and not care about cases the police can handle.
Josh is my favorite Spider-Man VA and he just fits him so well. I honestly wish they got the real Spidey and Batman, but we will see.
I really do want to see what they can do with whatever characters they can get their hands on.

Sounds like Invincible 3 is already in the works. But I'd be ecstatic if they at least drop a one-off hour special of Agent Spider (like with Atom Eve). If that's successful, which I believe it will, they should launch a whole season of Agent Spider after Invincible Season 3.
That will never happen. Writing an entire show for him would be more time consuming and much more restrictive creatively than writing for basically any other character, because it would be a legal landmine field. If there's ever going to be a full on Invincible spinoff show it will likely be Tech Jacket or The Astounding Wolf Man.

Maybe agent spider will get another cameo/he'll be added to the show in one way or another because alot of invincible's super heroes are actually based on dc/marvel heroes (aka the old gurdians of the globe, shrinking rae, etc) but spiderman is owned by sony rather then disney so it might be a little more difficult/easy for agent spider to make an apearance again but I won't be so surprised if it does end up happening

After X-Men ‘97, I’m leaning more towards wanting to see a Spider-Man ‘98 series. That seems like the only possible place in the near future for animated shows to present a version of Peter Parker not stuck in high school and who also isn’t MCU adjacent. I even did a video on my own channel discussing the potential pros and cons of doing that sort of revival. I’m pretty sure it even got ripped off in places by a different Spider-Man RUclipsr 😂
I want an agent spider show right now lol, but all jokes aside this would be a great idea. There are so many comic stories of spider man being well a man, not a kid. And how spiderman actually deals with the costs of being a superhero, this in a show mixed with adult humor would be a breathe of fresh air.

Before this dropped I saw a theory that josh keaton was going to voice "Tatantula man" from the boys universe. Watching this scene play out the way it did Id like to think its in the boys universe but there is an agent spider variant in marks universe who could get his own show. Same thing with cyberforce.

I love your vids and was really looking forward to a second half of the season reaction/analysis video. Please don’t let this be the only vid to sum up the 2nd season, there’s so much more relevant things to talk about, this is a pipe dream. You could have made a video talking about portrayals of Spiderman in animated shows and then had a dedicated section for how Agent Spider in Invincible is how he could be portrayed more maturely than current offerings. But this isn’t worthy of a full length Invincible-adjacent vid imo.
To each their own, and for the record I do agree it’d be awesome, but please make a proper Invincible 2nd season reaction/analysis vid!

I'd totally watch an Agent Spider show. Probably the only way to get a proper adaptation of Maximum Carnage, the Deadly Foes of or The Rose vs Kingpin storyline.

This is definitely a Hail Mary request to get Spectacular Spider-Man season 3 (that isn’t Greg Weisman’s new comic). At the very least, give Agent Spider a notable Beyond the Spider-Verse cameo, just to bring that quote of his full circle.

To put into perspective how messy the Spider-Man rights are,any animated show featuring Spider-Man that goes over 44 minutes has to go through Sony,and if it’s UNDER 44 minutes you go to marvel.and it depends on the version of the characters,Sony can’t use Tom holland

I would love to watch something that has Keaton voicing all his spider incarnations - Spider-Man, Agent Spider, and Black Spider (Young Justice).
I find hilarious that he’s done so many different versions of this character.
Might be a reach, but he voiced a human character named Jack in Transformers Prime, who had Arcee as his Autobot companion. And who is Arcee’s Decepticon rival? None other than *Airachnid.* So in that show he was often hunted and chased by a robo-spider, too 🤭

the BIG problem with an Agent Spider franchise is that this conversation will never end, the spiderman comparisons would just put a sour taste in people's mouth and the Agent would never find his own footing
You know I always have this thought in my head that if Agent Spider were to get his own show, I think it would be a spin off of Invincible and at the same time, a spiritual successor to the Spectacular Spider-Man show.
If this would be the only way to have Josh Keaton back behind the wheel of “Spider-Man” in a way that isn’t a cameo, then by all means

Personally I'd love an Agent Spider storyline that really sets him apart from Spider-Man by leaning into the Agent part of the name. Yeah he quips like Spider-Man and he's a good guy with a good heart, but I imagine Agent-Spider as working directly under his dimension's version of Cecil (who's younger and has an eye patch). Agent Spider is much more like Hawkeye in some ways than Spider-Man, he's a soldier, willing to do bad things under Cecil's orders. The easiest dramatic thread to pull on there is have dramatic tension build between him and Cecil, some civil war esque central issue that divides The Agency (GDA + Avengers), but centering on Agent Spider. Make it a bit of a workplace drama, in the same way that Invincible is a realistic and raw depiction of what it would be like in a superhero's orbit (Debbie and Amber) Agent Spider could be a realistic depiction of how an agency like S.H.I.E.L.D would really run, beuracracy, workplace drama, resource mismanagement. And at the centre of it you have Josh Keaton voicing a wisecracking soldier trying his best to be a superhero. For once he's not quipping to make himself less scared, he's quipping to make himself comfortable with the things he has to do sometimes. Keaton proved he can convey a different sort of Spider-Man when he was Black Spider on Young Justice. A single season limited series could really do something with Agent Spider, doesn't even need to be groundbreaking story, just something competently written, fairly unique, with Josh Keaton voicing a spider guy.

I didn’t mind it, in terms of the season’s popularity though, I’m sure it didn’t help. The bigger issue was the massive gap between seasons 1 and 2.

This is honestly a cool idea, although they are already working on Spider-Man noir live action series, and if they have the right people, they can really bring a unique grit to spidey that hasn't been seen. The noir comic itself isn't too dark imo (granted how uncle Ben dies is down right horrifying) but it's not like "the boys" still a version of Spider-Man with that kind of tone could be interesting.
I just assumed that Agent Spider + His followinf riff on the world’s greatest detective’s name was all just a not-so-subtle nod to the Marvel Team-Up comic where he meets the actual Spider-man for the same reason… …only to then make the same statement about Spidey’s name. If anything I thought it was a unique and clever way to dodge copyright issues while still giving us a decent bit of those comic moments in an official capacity.
