      Just a regular MagSafe case will allow you to use it. Tons and tons of options. I really recommend the Pitaka or Benks if you’re looking for something very thin.

    What I'd really like to see is Through-the-Air MagSafe, so we wouldn't have to take off our watches or take out our phones to charge them.

    Looks like a nice charging stand.
    The specs on the back of the box appear to claim that this stand's phone-charging pad will supply up to 15 watts, so the lower figure of 7.5 watts for iPhones seems to be due to this not being a MagSafe charger, but rather just Qi. If so, why are some manufacturers still making non-MagSafe chargers that they market for both iPhone and Android users? Is it that tough for manufacturers to get licensed by Apple to make MagSafe chargers, or for manufacturers to make a MagSafe charger that meets Apple's specs, even though the iPhone 12 series, the first with MagSafe, capable of charging at 15 watts, was released about three and a half years ago, in October 2020?

      The companies that don't have Apple's official MagSafe technology are the ones using regular Qi charging and charging at 5w or 7.5w. It says up to 15w charging for supported devices, which is basically Android devices. Now, with Qi2, that is all going to change and any Qi2 chargers will be able to charge the iPhone at 15w.

    Can you explain the benefits of Qi 2?

    • @Brians_tech
      @Brians_tech  3 месяца назад

      Sure. So Qi2 allows the iPhone to be charged at 15w and any other Qi2 powered devices to charge quicker than regular Qi as well. Qi2 is becoming the new wireless charging standard. Android phones that support Qi2 and that will support Qi2 in the future will also get faster wireless charging. Before, for iPhone, the only chargers that could wirelessly charge it at 15w was the Apple official MagSafe charger, a few Belkin chargers, and the Anker cube. That was because they had Apple's official MagSafe technology in them. Now, with Qi2, that will become the standard and all Qi2 chargers will charge the iPhones that support Qi2 at 15w. I hope that helps explain it!
