    You should use the RTS window on the right side of the history for a live view on the sonar

      I find the RTS to be distracting but I've shown its use in other tutorials

      @@spiltmilt ohh ok yea was wondering why you did not have the RTS on. It's essentially the same thing as the live flasher marks.

    Is the red hard bottom depicted on hummingbird the same on a garmin?

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  3 года назад

      Depends on your gain and color settings but on both units "red" will reflect a hard bottom.

    The pan looked the best for ice fishing. Would that be the same for soft water fishing?

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  2 года назад

      I wouldn't use flasher in open water but it will really depend on what type of fisheries you participate in.

    Great info, thank you sir. New sub. I’m relatively new to the ice game. I had been using a budget sonar that bought for kayaking that happened to have a flasher mode. It worked well for the price, sub $150. This past spring I upgraded to a Helix 7 with the Mega SI DI CHIRP transducer and I love it! In anticipation of winter I ordered the 9 XI 1521 transducer. Well, it’s been on back order for over 3 months. Until it arrives I plan on using my open water transducer and can’t find any info how or if it will work properly when I set my Helix to ice mode. Will the open water transducer run the flasher or will I be limited to my standard sonar functions?

      You are limited to standard sonar functions.

    • @spiltmilt

      Cheap fingerless wool gloves you can get at any hardware store.

    Panoptix acts like an under water cam.
