Great info, thank you sir. New sub. I’m relatively new to the ice game. I had been using a budget sonar that bought for kayaking that happened to have a flasher mode. It worked well for the price, sub $150. This past spring I upgraded to a Helix 7 with the Mega SI DI CHIRP transducer and I love it! In anticipation of winter I ordered the 9 XI 1521 transducer. Well, it’s been on back order for over 3 months. Until it arrives I plan on using my open water transducer and can’t find any info how or if it will work properly when I set my Helix to ice mode. Will the open water transducer run the flasher or will I be limited to my standard sonar functions?
Thanks for taking the time to help us to with all this sonar clutter..
Great job Tyler as always very informative
Excellent info! Just today I picked up my first sonar, Garmin Striker 4 and can't wait to use it...
Got mine a few days ago, can't wait either.
Its been 2 years. How do you like the Striker 4?
Great video bud! Learned a lot. Thanks!
Great training video. My Striker 4 is now making sense to me.
Great video! Thank you so nuch
Awesome info , great job
Great video! I learned a lot!
What bait/jig did you use in this video
You should use the RTS window on the right side of the history for a live view on the sonar
I find the RTS to be distracting but I've shown its use in other tutorials
@@spiltmilt ohh ok yea was wondering why you did not have the RTS on. It's essentially the same thing as the live flasher marks.
Is the red hard bottom depicted on hummingbird the same on a garmin?
Depends on your gain and color settings but on both units "red" will reflect a hard bottom.
thanks
The pan looked the best for ice fishing. Would that be the same for soft water fishing?
I wouldn't use flasher in open water but it will really depend on what type of fisheries you participate in.
what did you have the display speed set at on the traditional graph at the beginning?
Ultra
Awesome!!!! 👍👍 🐟🎣

You are limited to standard sonar functions.
Hey what brand of gloves do you use and where’d ya get them from?
Cheap fingerless wool gloves you can get at any hardware store.
Scroll speed set fast?
Panoptix acts like an under water cam.
