Its "womans work" to him. Sorry but many men feel that way. Many men however now feel women should work outside the home on top of raising the kid(s), & taking care of everything else while he is for the most part the breadwinner.. He wants the "traditional" marriage that his parents likely have/had. He comes home, puts his feet up after maybe 8hrs of work, does what he wants while she carries the brunt of the actual work regarding the home, children etc. Ask a mother how much sleep or alone time she gets & then ask the other partner. Asuelu really represents the foundation of our Culture. He is a product of his enviroment to the fullest, what he thinks, was taught to him and in ways where its been seen he couldnt have an opinion of his own. It would be attacked and this is the result. So he repeats that false tradition and common way of life. He doesnt know any better but the toxicity forced on him. Kalani has to own her resents or else she will continue to stack anything on him and the habit will affect their other relationships. People love innocent and affable individuals. Imagine being surrounded by people who think you are a POS without communication or airing it out. So it builds. They have to break it off and go their ways or seek real counseling and therapy. Kalani is resentful af and samoan as well. The way to deal is to tear the person down so you dont have to look bad. She is showing toxic sides of the culture as well.
