@@bronwyn.mp3 Oh overjoyed! I missed them the first time round. I didn't get into music very early and by then they were not popular although I've always loved their songs. The new songs manage to convey a grown up Abba while maintaining the lovely melodies and lyrics and sheer catchiness that they had. Pure skill IMO. I'm also immensely grateful that they've chosen to do this in London, I mean wow, when we're basically having all manner of nastiness aimed at us for various things, it's like 'someone still likes us, omg thank you' I think too that it's given the fans a bit of light in what has been an awful couple of years and uncertainty still ahead. Something to look forward to with the Live show, I'ma bit sad but understanding that they're doing it via 'Abbatars' but if it means we get more music and a show... Absolutely, and it's also exciting because this is a new format of Show, and I love that they're the trailblazers for it. For the band I hope the pressures they felt before do not reemerge as the world once more goes into Abbamania. I would like to think that this time they can enjoy it with us and not feel pressured.
So weird... I was just listening to them this morning! I get mocked by everyone around me for listening to them (except my mom, she loves them.) Not only because it's ABBA. But also because of the fact I mainly listen to punk. I guess the music gods get angry if I listen to Chiquitita right after the Ramones. Guilty pleasure? I feel no guilt about it.
It surprises a lot of people how many metal artists have cited ABBA as an inspiration. There are a few heavy metal tribute albums and some bands have covered ABBA songs in their catalog as well
@@andrerossetto7759 I'd be very interested in checking them out if you know the names of the comps or the name of some bands & the songs they cover. I don't know if you like 80's/New Wave but Erasure put out an EP of some ABBA songs that was pretty good.
I remember watching Mama Mia hundreds of times and the music was so good I had to know who made it. Today Abba is now a pert of me and I am still shocked about how they there was a Broadway performance and 2 movies all made through the form of Abbas music
Heard of ABBA over the years but wasn't intimately familiar with them or anything but thats interesting this video. Wow they must have really not wanted to be bothered to turn down a billion..They're definitely not greedy musicians like most today.
I'm sure there's a few others like them out there here and there but super rare no doubt. Dolly Parton comes to mind she donated 1 million plus last year to help with the current situation. I dont see many celebs doing that either you know?
My 5 most favorite ABBA songs: 1. The Winner takes it all (disco + drama = tears on the dance floor kitsch, which I love) 2. Dancing Queen - I love this song since I was a kid. 3. Loved this group growing up. Anna-Frid is actually of Norwegian-German heritage because her mother had an affair with a Nazi during the German Occupation and had to leave Norway due to the stigma. I wasn’t aware that Frida had been married before she married her ABBA bandmate. It’s very tragic that she lost a child in a car accident, it’s more painful to lose a child than a parent.

ABBA is such an amazing band , I was never alive when they were actively producing music but I wish that music now was like that.
