This drama was truthfully beautiful despite the low budget. I loved the plot and cinematography. I recommend, I didn’t think I would like it at first when I began watching it but it truthfully surprised me.
i agree. I don't get how that is considered "low budget". It was better produced that some "high budget" shows. The quality does not disappoint

The people behind that drama know how to write magnetic female leads you cannot help but cheer for. And this one here is no different. She is a HEROINE !
To me, it's the most interesting drama I've watched for a long time cause it's different and given in an unusual and original way.
Actually it's not original. There is a Japanese movie "My Yesterday is Your Tomorrow". The theme is same.
Sh*t. The story is SUPER exciting, I love how different it is. But boy, I'm not ready for this kind of heartbreaking tragedy haha I think I'll pass, unless the drama magically ends happily.
I know I'm super late on this, but I'm pretty similar; where I try to avoid watching C-Dramas with Tragedies (which is nearly all of them imo haha) but I'd definitely watch this if you can. It has a very good ending in my opinion. Gave me perspective into my own life, which I am grateful for.
Five months later I am watching this because someone mentioned it had the highest score on Douban for historical dramas!

I like the low budget production, you can feel the "ancient-ness" or rawness that goes well with the story and the character's acting. If that makes sense. 😅
To me, it feels elegant.
This drama is a lovely, lovely gem! So smartly written and so intriguing! The actress is absolutely charismatic, strong and beautiful. Wonderful drama! Such a shame it’s sooooo short. Absolutely worth watching!!! ❤❤❤
Just finished watching and i agree with you the lead actor really reminds me of Tan jianci. The lead definitely improves as the ep goes on and by the last ep both the lead are outstanding

The ending is not a typical happy or tragic one actually. The story is unique and the ending is justified. I heard the Douban rating is above 8

This story is 85% similar to a Japanese drama called "My Tomorrow Your Yesterday" . The only differerence is that the story takes place in modern time.

exactly!! this drama popped up when she start explaining the story... kinda uuumm.. I think I know I've seen this before feeling for so many times in Chinese IPs mostly from Japanese, anime and drama.
for ppl who only watch Chinese drama don't know this thing at all same with Kdrama watchers... but me.. I watch K drama, C drama and J drama lol🤣

This drama sounds super interesting. Haven't heard of plot like this before and that's a new for cdramaland. Definitely gotta watch it and the original edit too cuz I'm intrigued
The reverse time travel also is a thing from British series Doctor Who))) Although, the genres are absolutely different and the stories don't match in anything else, except the concept of time-travel itself)

I actually love how simple they kept it due to low budget. zhang ya qin’s acting was good it made me feel. I agree with the review on the ML 😂 the story is very unique and i loved it. The ending…. not a huge fan but I definitely became a huge fan or the FL. She did really hold the drama together ❤️
P.S. PRODUCER, DIRECTOR, WRITER, ACTOR: Same person = REALLY low budget (The Room) 😂

Talking about this edit thing on BiliBili I saw one with Liu Yi Fei, Wu Lei and Chen Xing Xu. It was so well done you could believe they all belong to the same drama.
It amazes me how talented editors are. Many of the dramas I watched (mainly Chinese dramas) and loved (including Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms) were only on my radar due to fan mvs created by editors.

Thanks for the recommendation AvenueX. I watched 1 episode of the drama and liked it. And good thing its subbed and is available on youtube. I like the female lead from her previous dramas. For the ML, he was just playing assistant to Dilraba in Prosecution elite and now he's the lead in a drama. I will wait for the drama to finish airing and binge it.
I just finished watching this drama a few days ago and i loved it. It's very short, the story was very simple, everything progressed fast, and the love story was beautiful. I love everything about it....even though the ending still broke my heart. 💕
The reverse timeline time travelling setting reminds me of the 11th Doctor and River Song. Not a new idea but refreshing to see in C-dramas. I wonder if this will give rise to a new wave of C-writers.
It seems the short/underground cdramaworld got some interesting writers/PDs over there and they got the passion and "hunger" to do something good while facing challenges especially on ressources.

The story is very similar to the Japanese movie “ My tomorrow, your yesterday.” But it takes place in modern day. Probably one of the best Japanese romance movie I’ve seen and love. The way that the movie was filmed made it feel like there was no plot hole and the whole time thing actually works? At least for me it made sense.
maybe the author was inspired by that movie and then made the story. but that is still excellent. if I learn that Japanese movie, i will make nothing. and the two stories is very different, maybe you can watch both and compare.

this is actually " Boku wa Ashita, Kinou no Kimi to detto suru/ Lil translation: I will date you from yesterday/ I will date your yesterday" ( English title: My Tomorrow, Your yesterday) in period settings... the reverse time travel from 2 POV really really similar, better check this movie, really amazing movie.
Its like the story of Doctor Who and River Song from Matt Smith Doctor Who era.

I watched the first episode but can't continue until it is subbed 😥I like the concept of the backward time travelling and I am looking forward to the rest of the show. Thanks for the review, now I will keep watching out for it after the subbing is done.
That reverse time line travel was used many years ago in Dr Who.

Am I the only one who think about Guardian ( the TV show) with the time reverse thing ? X) First time Zhao Yulan meet Shen Wei in modern era he doesn't know him, and when Shen Wei meet Zhao Yulan the first time in Ancient Time he (shen wei) doesn't know him ^^

The most interesting C-drama among the recent releases. The female lead is the one who made this drama works as she really brought the character to live. Nothing much to say about the male lead as he also gave a below par performance in another recent drama : Prosecution Elite. It’s a cheap production drama and the scripting is very much like those short web drama but overall it’s still looks good on screen. I kinda hoping for a happy ending as the motivation for the male lead in time leaping is to change the tragic ending.
Oh my! Oh my! When I saw the 1 episode I saïd: "Tan Jianci?", but no, he wasn't him. I like that drama!
