I could understand if they wanted to implement that for wild-caught animals coming from other countries, but it's absolutely absurd to do that for captive-bred pets. Especially when they're bred right here in the continental U.S.
@A Dubs, Even for wild caught animals, there is no evidence that any disease or virus like Covid has been spread by reptiles in any point in history. It is hard for a zoonotic disease to jump from one mammal species to another (if we assume Covid came from Bats). But for any zoonotic disease to jump from a reptile to a mammal is insanely unlikely.

@@Redthirteenjamie Really? If a ban like this goes through and it faces little resistance, other countries that want to enact similar policies will absolutely use this as an example to say, "Hey, it worked in America. Why can't we pass similar laws here?".
