Much Respect. Horse can also scratch neck with hind: found my 17YO Lusitano flat out in the pasture with hind caught up in knotted mane. Feaky self hobbling.
Sure do like to hear your unfiltered thoughts. You're right, people that are the first to talk about "bad ones" don't have any idea what a truly bad one is. Or, their "bad one" is just a horse that's a little aggressive & a lot smarter than they are 😂
Way off topic, but would you mind giving your opinion about saddle makers that you would recommend to people just starting out with horses. I get asked this question a lot and I haven’t bought a saddle in years. I am still riding a couple of Oliver’s I bought used. They are like $6500 plus now and these young people can’t afford them.
I have to hobble my mule on the lateral legs a front and back ,if you hobble just the front she can still run off.Could you some time show how to safely do that?
I don't think any experienced horseman would get kicked hobbling a horse. We are always protecting ourselves with out even realizing we are doing it. But some one new to horses should probably not try.
If a guy is worried about them kicking you while you are using that style of hobbles id say there's some holes in his program. It's pretty easy to hobble a "bad one" with 8 feet of cotton rope and some patience. I believe you did a video on it a long time ago.

Wow, that had to be freaky to find them like that! The things horses get themselves into.
Never seen that one but I can see it happening.
@ Iv seen them with a hind leg caught in a halter but never the mane.
Even your horse jumped when you let that insult come out of your mouth! 😂
lol
People don't know how to talk to others and also have respect
Me too sometimes
I appreciate you!
you bet

As far as custom makers they are all that high but for a factory saddle Mcall is pretty good and Teskeys are not bad.

I got kicked hobling a mule when I was about 12 taught me the only lesson I needed in the art.
