I initially believed the gentleman on the ladder, painting, happened to be Alfred Hitchcock and actually was expecting an edge of the seat dramatic and/or 'horror-style' offering. So, I guess you would know the surprise I experienced when presented with a more ethereal and philosophical musical compilation! I really like this...it went well with my drawing efforts! to me, the painting is depicting someone painting out reality (so they can live in fantasy). an almost universal human trait. most people would prefer to 'change reality' (both literally and in their imaginations) than change one iota of their genetically determined behavior or beliefs to fit reality better. three major examples. the existence of religion. the 100% non action on global warming. and mindless child production in the knowledge of a 12 x plus overshoot population being propped up temporarily on a finite energy source. i think people could change, as many (all too few) have ' done the right things' but it means going down some pretty deep rabbit holes. and you have to start pretty young if you are going on that journey ie questioning human genetic programming and biases
