- Q: You already did this comparison!
A: Yes I did, but It wasnt side by side. SOooooo I thought it would be a good idea to re-do it!
Back in the day, it was a challenge doing a good port of ARCADE to the less powerful consoles that reign in the market. This version has good graphics and good music, but gameplay suffers from slowdowns and unaccurate models. Nevertheless, the gameplay is fine and it was the first fighting cartridge I bought for Super Nintendo back in the day. My only 16 bit console when I was a kid.

Ahh. The memories of renting this game in the early 90's.
AoF for SNES was a fine port, not only included many things from the original, but added a few things that were key elements to make it perfect: everyone had now DM's and, most important, had the full official canon ending with Takuma telling the whole involvement with Young Geese. Oh, and Mr. Big theme in the SNES was amazing!
Don Vecta love the snes' arranged bgm, too
How does a game that's close to 30 yrs old have a more dramatic intro than most games today!?
By the way, Jack is more glamorous in snes since he fights in a cafe rather than in a Bar on the original. 😂
For it's time in the mid 90's, the SNES port was about as good as you were going to get compared to the NEO GEO original! It was that close!! I remember myself and my friends hiring the game out on the SNES for atleast 2 months via 1994 because we liked it that much. The Sega Megadrive/Genesis on the other hand?!! Sigh.....
I have the arcade MVS hardware with this game running in my living room
Damn fine port for the SNES if you ask me. If anything the blinking shadow in the arcade version is annoying.
music is... kind of better on snes...
Only some tracks. Mr Big and Mickey are definitely superior on SNES (better compositions), but rest of tracks are superior in arcade
@@TheTrueBro Only Big's Theme
Snes good effort!!!! Arcade wins!!!
Remember you're comparing 24-Bit $250 cartridges to a 16-Bit $50 cart--ported by Takara!
Neo Geo is 16 bit arcade/console.
5:05 - Ripped straight thru him.. That deathblow sound was So beautiful when you plugged the headphones in to the neo geo arcade board.
Love those arcade sprites
Thx for this. Btw, your English is great ;)
snes version=peasant
Mr Bigs Music on Snes is better than the Arcade version
Arcade ganha de goleada!
When you get to Mr Big and Karate some of them move start acting like moves in Street Fighter (Fighting Streets) no matter how well you do the motions they are not coming out especially that giant Fireball
The game restricts certain moves against them at times.. even in the arcade.
Arcade Superior
Snes the ports is ok
