Oh hon! 😥 I feel your pain. I've only done 2 markets and I'm probably never going to do one again. I made my booth rent back both times but like $18 at the one and less than $100 at the other and only because my family came and bought a bunch of stuff (which they do all the time anyway and I felt bad because they were pity purchases). I've just given up. But I always want everyone else to have the most success, so think that you will have less prep to do for the next one and IMO the pride crowd likes to buy cute stuff. I think it will be a great one for you!!
thank you! I hope if you decide to do more markets you have more success but I totally get not wanting to do more haha even though it s a totally different event I’m scared for the pride one because holy heck this one sucked!
There are business cards that you can print on. There were from Avery. They are perforated so no cutting. More than likely a bit more expensive than regular card stock but cheaper than professionally printing. The way you did your log is very nice looking. Keep it. They should have had fans in the barn for all of you.
Ugh, I had a few really terrible markets in the spring and in the summer. There was one earlier this month where I literally only had 16 individual sales. The only thing that saved that market was that a handful of those bought something over $30 each. This was a market I go to consistently that costs $100 to be there! That was a terrible idea for them to put the vendors in the barn without a good ventilation plan in place. I think they thought it would be cute but it was a HOT summer
i just had my first market on saturday & i made $150. i felt really good about this outcome since it was my first. anything over your booth fee is a success in my eyes! love from miami❤
Hey girl, idk if you'll ever see this, but I have been using your market videos to give myself ideas to do farmer's markets. I had my first one Saturday and I sold.... 12 items. Just like you in this vid. I was even close on the amount I made. Turns out there was a fair nearby that took a ton of clientele. I just wanted to say that this video made me subscribe to you because it popped up today and I already liked you, but now I feel a real connection. Thank you for this. (Side note, I was really happy with my 12 items sold.... so maybe that might make you feel better?)
Omg thank you so much for your kindness! Looking back I’m not too mad about the sales but mostly about the environment that this market was held. I’m so happy you tried selling at a farmers market! Do you think you’ll try again?!
I’m from Minnesota too. 😊. We have accents? All your plushies are wonderful. I just crocheted the flower. It’s fun to make and adorable. Sorry you had such a miserably hot market. I would have died. Air has to be moving!
oh yes we totally do haha whenever i travel out of the country it’s super noticeable! even in florida someone asked if i was from minnesota or canada 😭
super bizzare that they didn't just open up more doors to allow a breezeway, did they want to be responsible for someong collapsing from heat stroke. Hopefully they learn from that and correct it next time.
This is just my observation please dont be upset... i honestly finished watching this vlog and I do observed that some color combinations of the plushies was perfect and some colors are I think its not that attractive to kids. Anyways goodluck to your next market ❤
I mostly do whatever color combos I like, I have kids to adults in their 60s buying plushies for themselves so I don’t totally do all my marketing towards kids!
You never how good a show will be until you do it. I probably would have just left after a few hours if it really was bad. If you’re not worried about ever attending again. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can get very serious. Did anyone of the vendors complain? That’s just ridiculous. Make sure you fill out the survey for improvement ideas. Sorry

I’m not sure if anyone complained to the people running it while we were there but they definitely know now that I sent in a survey response!
I'm not hearing an accent.
I always hear it when I travel haha
