This is such a great video to pattern the base of a trench coat or any coat at all! For me, I would recommend using jacket slopers or modifying bodice slopers to be jacket slopers before starting the patterning process for the coat (I used the Joseph-Armstrong patterning book for this part). Then I used this amazing vid to create my base patterns, and will now modify them to bring my trench coat vision to life! Thank you so much!

You are so welcome! You can easily adapt the trench coat patterns into a rain. A hood and water resistant/rain proof material should help.
