Hi Lucy, I absolutely adore the university and the city. Everyone is super friendly, the city is remarkably safe and easy to navigate, and the university is incredible! Sorry this is such a late reply xx
Hi, I'm going to Uni of Liverpool, and I got my accommodation today. I am also in Greenbank, however none of us can work out where the different letter blocks are. Which block were you in, and did you find that the letter blocks had a big impact?
Hi Lauren, so there are 4 main areas of Greenbank and their blocks are, if I remember correctly: 1. Derby Old Court (blocks A-N) 2. Derby (O-R) 3. Rathbone (S-V) 4. Roscoe and Gladstone (W-Z) I was in block Y, and especially in the beginning, you spend most of your social time in your area, and I only really knew people from Roscoe and Gladstone. However, by the end of the year, my closest friends were from Derby Old Court. So basically, blocks didn't really matter past the first couple of weeks. The only other impact on blocks was, all the laundry and gym and social spaces are in Derby, so it was a walk with all our laundry from R+G, but you'd get used to it quick enough.
Hey Hannah, so in terms of uni halls, I'd say that Greenbank (where I lived) is the most social, Crown Place is the most popular, as it is a brand new hall and perfect location for people studying in north campus but the reports are its a lot less social, Vine Court is good if you want catered accommodation & is good for people studying in south campus, and also very social but is quite old and slightly more rundown than the newer places. I don't really know much about Melgrove or Philharmonic sorry x
Hey, my friend and I are both staying in Greenbank I was just wondering roughly how far of a walk our blocks are away from each other, she’s in block U and I’m in Block X?
Hi Katie, good luck with moving and starting at the uni! I'll be honest, my first week (freshers) was so so stressful and a mess, because I didn't plan anything. In freshers week, there will most likely be introduction lectures to your modules and I missed all of mine just because I wasn't aware of the timings, and didn't bother to look them up. But my first week of lectures went surprisingly okay compared to the week before, once I sorted my timetable and figured out my way around campus, everything became routine very quickly x
Hey, I’m thinking of going to Liverpool for uni starting in September! How have you found it so far are you enjoying it/recommend it? Thanks x
Me too. How's the lockdown situation in Liverpool rn?
