- I figured out how to use superior drummer with my V-Drums today and decided to make this video since this is the first time I've had a way to record quality audio. big thanks to Bill at Toontracks for hooking me up with it. and no thanks to imovie. i will sooner give myself a lobotomy before using that program to edit again. but anyway, heres wonder wall- I mean, Matriarch from Nightbringers

Toni Sipola more than 5 or 6. Your looking around 8,000 with the extra cymbal pads and extra tom pads. A 5 or 6 piece roland v kit is 7500 at musicians friend

As usual, an AMAZING BANG UP JOB, Alan! Love those Demon Drives. Thanks for the recommendation when you were here in Dayton OH at Oddbodys. Btw, I have the TD-10 and I consider it my "quiet practice" kit when I don't want to disturb others in the house, but the kick head makes it hard to get control. Maybe I need to mess with the tension a bit. You crushed it like it was an acoustic kit. Cheers!

Killer e-kit man! How's the bass drum pad on these? Only problem I've ever had with e-kits was getting used to the utter lack of decent rebound with the kicks. Really dug how it's set up like your acoustic. \m/
BurnThePope they're pretty good. I've gotten used to playing on practice kick pads at high speeds too but if those are the worst rebound and a kick head is the best this is leaning towards a kick head at least

Edit: Also, I died a little of jealousy when you tossed in the side note of getting used to doing this shit on practice pads. Difference between a decent drummer and a great drummer is dedication to practice. \m/

My band practices in the same facility as TBDM. Most of the time it's just the drummer shredding by himself. I stop at his door and listen and get the biggest drum boner. 😍

How do you rate the feel of the Vdrums as opposed to an acoustic set? I've always wondered. I have young children and have a hard time playing in my free time (when they're asleep) and have been looking for a good alternative to my Pearls
best electronic kit you can own IMO. not gonna feel exactly like a real kit but the rebound of the mesh heads will allow you play a lot faster more easily. the samples are also pretty good.

I always talked shit about electronic drums but a few years ago I bought a roland td4 with all mesh pads and it has been awesome. Gret for practicing at home and really great to link with superior drummer, addictive drums etc...to lay down some quick ideas. Check them out!

The drum kits are cool for when you need to be quiet. Just plug in head phones and you're good to go. It is weird playing with mesh drum heads and rubber cymbals. They are similar but not the same. I miss playing acoustic drums, but we jam in an apartment.
Do you find it a little easier to play the electric kit? I go to play my acoustic kit after playing my electric kit for months and sweat my balls off lol
Yeah it’s obviously a little easier because you don’t have to worry so much about putting power into your hits to get loud dynamics but I usually play about the same between both kits and don’t usually go above a 12 inch stick height at my maximum on either kit so I can maintain accuracy, consistency, and preserve energy.

I have seen those Alesis kits for like half the price as a Roland but I’ve had my Roland kit for 10 years and nothing has failed. I’m skeptical on buying anything else other then Roland.. thoughts?
Major Lee Roland is and has been the top-of-the-line electronic synthesized instrument company for decades. I personally wouldn’t choose anything else because the V drums have been around for at least 20-25 years so they’ve had plenty of time to make sure that they are the best.

How come on drum playthroughs the snare drum always stands out so much compared to the actual track? Can they not make a snare that sounds the same as the track without editing it or is it impossible?

Dodtbdm plug it into a youtube ripper. Pretty sure the sound your referring to is how the drums sound, and they sound different because they are electronic drums.
it is actually the drumless demo version though.
