First timer here .. But I'm looking forward to seeing this movie .. and the series .. I'm sure the movie won't hit on every single possible scenario .. but that's what continuous series are for 😂❤✝️🕊🛐
Yes! I'm curious to see where the series will go. There are so many scenarios that could come out of this setup. Thanks for your comments! What's the next movie you're excited to see?
You are probably not going to hear an f-0bomb in an Angel Studios movie. Glad to see Neal McDonough to see him in roles. Have you seen him The Shift? He played the bad guy in that one. Possibly the Devil.
Yes, Angel Studios is truly trying to put out "good" movies that aren't filled with F-bombs and other profanity, for which I'm so grateful. No, I never watched The Shift. I wanted to but ran out of energy because I caught Covid. Bleh. What did you think of it? I heard it had a lot of symbolism, which I love.
Angel studios needs to get better about putting there movies on streaming or cable TV there movies are in the movie theater for a couple of weeks and then I never hear about them again so far I've only seen Sound of Freedom and that's because I got the movie tickets for free from the website and even though it was a good movie I haven't seen it anywhere since then
@@rustyshackleford6035 My understanding is that they're trying to build their own network that has good, clean movie options. They already have a few series on there too.
With Russia's recent threat of nuclear war, this movie is more relevant and important than ever! It presents some really great ways you can start preparing your family for any kind of emergency.
10 cloverfield Lane is quite good too. Kind of similar scenario of a post apocalyptic world and preparing even though the protagonist takes it to extremes. I think I’d watch Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons do almost any parts but “Civil War” was just too bleak and dark. I sometimes would like to see a film with a bright outlook on the future. I know, far fetched when we look at so many lunatics with nuclear codes.
I agree that "Civil War" had great performances and was very dark, but also extremely powerful. I hear people casually saying that Civil War is coming to America, not realizing how truly devastating that would be. We're much more likely to destroy ourselves than by aliens like in 10 Cloverfield Lane. ha ha One thing that drove me nuts about "Cloverfield" and "10 Cloverfield Lane" is that J. J. Abrams rarely gave the audience a good look at the creatures! He's so good at suspense.
@@MovieReviewMomI think the ending of Cloverfield may have been intended to be ambiguous. The viewer can fill in their favorite theories. It was interesting to feel that the greatest threat might be from Goodman’s character. As far as a civil war, it could be argued that we’re in one. The larger one may be in the next four years. There are some pretty bonkers people out there. Jesse Plemons’ character still haunts me.
@ Never saw Lost. Ah, so many series, so little time. There are only a few I’ve seen every episode of. Justified is near the all time favs. Breaking Bad. A recent one is “Bad Sisters” which is brilliant.
What channel is the series going to be on or is it some kind of streaming service that Angel has if I can't watch the rest of the series I don't want to waste my time on something I can't finish
@@rustyshackleford6035 I assume it's going to be offered on the Angel Studio network, but I haven't heard yet when it's coming out. The movie offers some resolution at the end, so you could still enjoy it as a stand-alone film, I think.
In your recommendations I uselly watched all 3 movies but this I haven't heard of any of those other movies so be looking for them as for favorite non zombie apocalypse movies I would say my favorites so far is the Road with viggo mortensen and for a lighter touch the movie seeking a friend for the end of the world Steve carell and Keira Knightley
Yes! I've seen both of those and enjoyed them both. I'm such a huge fan of Viggo Mortensen. How have you been? What's the next big movie you're looking forward to watching?
This movie makes no sense on literally any level. The "rich" guy could have just brought 10k worth of long shelf life food of Amazon. Running low on food in only 20 days? I have more than that in my 1 bedroom apartment. No discussion of waste/sewage disposal, and where are they getting their water? They're far above the water table, making wells impractical. How is their generator operating and how much fuel do they have? Seems like most of the emphasis went on defending the value of the location, while at the same time trying to emphasize how little they had in the first place. No, the entire power grid isn't going down in one shot. No, a nuke detonation isn't taking out all critical infrastructure across the country. And no, this entire scenario would not at all happen. Also, the gate they keep coming back to is meant to keep out vehicles, not people. That's why it has a 3 foot gap underneath it. People could literally just roll under it. Ridiculous.
All very good points! For most non-prepper people, this might be their very first exposure to how to prepare for the unexpected. You're right that the preps are basic, except for the time and money spent on security. What I like is that it introduces some ideas that many people won't be prepared for emotionally. I'm assuming that when the series begins, it will address other prepping elements like the ones you mentioned. I hope! Thanks so much for your comments!
@@MovieReviewMom To be honest I don't think it should be looked at as a prepper movie. They were trying to go in a different direction with self sustainability and a return to a more agrarian lifestyle even before all that happened. Their mistake was trying to take it into too many directions at once. I honestly think it could have been a great story, just not the way they did it
This is the single worst movie I’ve ever seen and I’m a Christian, home school parent who lives in the country and loves guns. This should have been my favorite film of all time but it was just awful in every way.
@@Michael-rk9iw Well, they probably planned to hunker down with just a certain number of people for a certain number of days. Supplies go fast when you start feeding everyone in town. It's not a perfect movie, but a way to start the conversation for people who have no idea what prepping even means. Do you think you'll watch the series once it starts?
@@MovieReviewMom If they planned to hunker down for only a few days, they wouldn't have hired their own military commando unit to protect the compound. If they really only expected it to last a few days or even a few weeks, they wouldnt be concerned about the next growing season and future food shortages Face it, the whole movie makes no sense no matter what way you look at it. No I'm definitely not paying a subscription to watch this show. The actors did their best with what they had to work with, but the fact is that if they were going to make a movie as a segue into a series, it should have been done much better. Their attempt to pack everything into a 20 day span is what led to the failure here.
@@Michael-rk9iw The good news is that they wanted to say more about this whole scenario, which is why they're planning on it leading into a series. I hope they have better details in the series. You sound like a very well-though-out prepper!
@MovieReviewMom the movie had the opportunity to project the idea that strength and skills could save your family. In the judeo/Christian thought process prove itself relavent in modern society? It's a great idea with horrible writers. Also storage/sea crates are water tight so rodents can't get in them to steal your wheat unless you have a terrible writer who doesn't understand how global transport works.
@MovieReviewMom apparently my reviews which do t praise Mao or Stalin don't get posted. Good luck with convincing 99% of Americans they should go hungry for the greater good.
Fair enough my internet is slower than a democrat recognizing a presidential candidate is already dead. Thank you youtube for posting my remarks that are cou ter to the status guoʻ.
Did we watch the same movie? IMO, it was horrible. Our local Park & Rec Theater actors have better acting chops than people in this movie. The cheesy Christian lines are laughable, especially paired with nonChristian actions. For example, Christians preach absence before marriage, but this movie has a teenage boy entering a homeschooled teenage girl's bedroom in the middle of the night and sit on her bed. Then, they hold hands and pray while on the bed. 🤣😂🤣😂 The camera person constantly zooms into the faces of the actors as if trying to find emotional expression. The Homestead wife needs to get that mole removed. It looks horrible, especially when the camera is constantly zooming in on her face.
I'm so sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it. It sounds like you don't plan on watching the series once that comes out. It's definitely not the same quality as some of the other Angel Studio movies, but I still found a lot of intriguing content about emergency preparedness and how to tackle the complex questions such a scenario would present. What's the next movie you're looking forward to watching? Thanks for your comments!
