- Definitely not an idea situation to have a chunk of metal sitting down inside the head of the engine but thankfully it didnt fall any further and we were able to get it out without needing to remove the head all together.

Broke my aftermarket chain compressor tool too last year using it for the first time. i cracked the plastic on top.
bought a original tensioner that had the tool on it and that worked flawlessly.
This 1.8t engine is looking good, glad you didn't have to take the head of it to get broken piece of tool. Thank goodness. Martin hooked another cam tensioner tool and have to buy another one. Also glad to see the Mk3 GTI driving around the driveway and some cleaning in the engine bay of that car. By the way the lower grill on the Jetta wagon passenger side with fog light is part # TB004VW 02 R >PP+TD20< (couldn't find a brand name) I will bring part with me to Euro Tripper next month so you can see it person.
I recently finished the 1.8T mk3 replacement, I am happy with the result, I wish the engine to start smoothly :)
Can you put a list on what you need? Might do a swap from 1.4 to 1.8
Hey man, rustoleum trim paint doesn’t seem to be available in Europe (except for those with a US military hookup). Maybe you could do a comparison with the brands in European shops before you leave? Like the Motip stuff. I’d love to know which one comes closest as I have a lot of faded trim.

I've used lidl's baufix matte paint on my lip more than a year ago and it still looks very good.

You got it thou, can’t wait for the final outcome, also for the chain tensioner from the mark on the cam it should count 16 to the other cam then you can bolt it all down

I bought a brand new 1.8t and all the deletes were already done. Any help or videos to see where the hoses hook up and such??? Any help would be appreciated!!!

dont delete the n249/ dont go from intake to DV its less good for turbo and the getting back on it after accelaration is worse Audi/WV engeneers knew what they where doing ;)

Do you paint your engine components with something heat resistant, or does it work with just the normal Tristar primer, ld6t base coat, and 2k clear?

I use rustoleum primer normally which I don’t know the temperature rating of that but I’ve used it many times with no issues yet
