This soundtrack makes me want to give this series a second chance. I loved the Golden Age films. Was just put off here by the excessive cgi and diversion from the mangas narrative. The music though... is pretty freakin rad.
The Golden Arc Trilogy was created to replace the original 1997 version since there are no HD version of the original (it's in 4:3 only) and the audio was recorded in stereo (4 channels only). It wouldn't have been well taken if the "newer" viewers were told "Hey, watch the 18-19 years old anime from the 90's to understand what's going on". Especially since the box set of that anime is getting harder to find in some regions (or its price is too high). For example, I remember seeing the box set of DVDs at 250$ CND about 15 years back. (My region is a wreck in terms of price for anime as we get 2-3x the import cost + profits margin added since it's usually US > EU *translated with French > Quebec/Canada. That was before the Internet made it so easy to import from the US.)
Same goes with Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 8, Hajime no Ippo and Detective Conan. Talking about long-running mangas that still hasn't ended. lol

Zethras Gorgoth has nothing to do with nostalgia. I and many others think it's bad for the horrible animation and many important scenes from the manga are skipped (which also happened in the 97 version which is why i don't think it's THAT good). The only things i like from the new Berserk are the voice actors and the ost.

Golden Age films didn't use that much bad CGI, it used a fair amount of traditional animation. 2016, however..
