I went there with my school for a camping trip only 6-4 were allowed to go that was at March This year it’s awesome to see how big it was after that my nan came from the mainland and told me that I had some convicts in my my history:) I loved the jail cell area me and my friend looked into one that was dark and we swear we saw a ghostly figure in it, it was soo cool on the boat as well the island were they put some of the convicts on that island they all died some how. Fun fact: they put the hospital higher up because they thought that germs don’t live high up XD
I'm from the UK. Have been to Port Arthur several times. I find it an interesting place, It brings to light the brutality of the penal system of the 19th. century. Prisoners incarcerated in solitary confinement having committed 'heinous crimes', were allowed to attend chapel on a Sunday but they had to wear hoods with just eye slots & they weren't allowed to talk to one another.
