Kristen Stewart is not rude, stuck up, or boring. She's just shy. Apparently people don't understand how someone can possibly be that way naturally.
Of course people can be shy and that's ok. But if you're in the entertainment industry people expect to be entertained.
So she should learn how to act on a late night show or stop doing late night shows. Otherwise she's just doing a bad job (at entertaining us).
If people do bad jobs they're critizised. Unfriendly waitresses, bad accountants, ..., anyone gets critized by the people that have something to do with their work.

She's an actor, not entertainer. That is a talkshow where Conan is the star. HE'S the entertainer, not her. It's just an interview on his show. Rather a human being than an actor who's fake 100% of the time.

Conan asks about all these scripts people are sending her assuming she's a very sought after actress and because she's not it made her feel uncomfortable and obviously she doesn't know how to brush it off. I don't think she's socially awkward. I think she hasn't develop a way to get out of uncomfortable emotions and thoughts fast.
tl;dr: She's expected to be getting lots of movie scripts for movies, she's not, it puts her into an awkward position she's unable to bruh off.

Its a harsh reality of life, but confidence and a big ego are key for the greatest actors. Anthony Hopkins probably balances it better than any actor I have ever seen. He'll quote shakespeare in an interview and flaunt his talents, but somehow manages to do it in a very humble way

Conan killed it here. Most guests like to talk and talk, and don't allow the host to talk, but Kristen is really introverted and I think Conan handled that pretty well.
But on the other end of the spectrum, people like Bill Burr, when you get him going on a rant there's no stopping him. And Conan deals with him very well too. Conan is truly a great host.

Charlie's angels is a movie made by a woman for women. Elizabeth Banks did not change male names to female and asked Kristen to participate. It's a movie about the real girls power, about their failures, mistakes, emotions and true frienship.

I think this interview is a prime example of Conan being the most professional late night host on tv right now. He doesn't force the conversation when she doesn't see it moving, he keeps her on her feet, though it's obvious she doesn't have much to say, and never once deflects anything she offers. Jimmy(s) would just laugh awkwardly and set up some stupid Twilight skit with fake hands.

In the 1930s and 40s movies were more popular than ever and actresses were allowed to be so varied and unusual, without the 24/7 glare of media attention, to say nothing of paparazzi leeches or internet fools of today.
If a group of the most talented actors of that era had to put up with what performers today are hounded with, I think most wouldn't last a year or so.
Stewart may be a bundle of nerves - like early De Niro - in interviews, although it's clear she has great inner strength and wisdom.
It's a shame in modern society that such little consideration and allowance is made for eccentricity, even in artists.
And yes, Kristen Stewart is one of the most interesting and talented actors out there, without a doubt.

I think I'm one of the only people that has ever liked her and I don't really care what people say. She slightly awkward but I'm drawn to celebrities who are true to themselves even if it's making mistakes we all would. I find her pretty cool. of course she is tired of of girl power movies, because the characters she play are disempowering to girls, most especially Bella Swan. I can sorta get what she means though. Female empowerment shouldn't always have to be about physically kick ass. Moral courage and personal integrity are far more powerful than punching someone in the face.
What many feminists think is empowering for them is to see a girl assault a man like the every man is the same and that we all deserve punishment for the history of unequality like we are the reason why this have happened since the dawn of men... That's just wrong! If I were in chargé of the world, unequality wouldn't exist if that makes any sense.. I'm just saying that every individual is different and while some are very bad people you can't just blame the gender for what some people who happened to be of the same gender have done.. ShadowCrowX the problem with empowering women movies is that most are written by men so in short, they've no idea how to portray the subject and that's why the fall into the mistake explained by Kristen. No mean to discriminate men as writers, but i think a true, honest empowering story of that type comes from a woman's experience not a man's.

I gotta say that I agree, I'm tired of the cliche of "Girl is the one to change humanity and so powerful and omg" kinda like Katniss or a lot of other female characters. It is not that it is wrong, it sends a good message, but sometimes it is very unrealistic. There are very few realistic female characters that give that realistic "girl power" feel, in fiction or non fiction.

Conan is one of the few people I've seen acclimate to her personality. He doesn't mock her, or demean her. He asks relevant questions, lets her answer fully, and will bandy about some jokes. It's really refreshing.
