Love this great band! They play 80 year old music and make it so vibrant. My parents’ absolute favorite Glenn Miller song. Music of World War II was wonderful. So many emotions.
I hope that they continue to make music for us. I just love all the effort they put into their music and make it seem so casual. Great listening to them.
If the rest of the movie is as good as this scene, it’s gotta be a classic. From a (no longer playing) trombone guy, I wish they would have played it a few bpm faster. The lead trombonist was into to. Outstanding job, ladies!!!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
As usual I followed a link from one thing to more GREAT music performed by the younger generation and daddy-o do they do a great job or what?!? I grew up in the 60s listening to this as my dad always had it on the radio at home and in the car! We can all listen to R&R, R&B and hard rock and yeah Rap with a little country thrown in, but how can you not enjoy good swing played by beautiful women that look like they are having fun belting out some fine and fun tunes!
There was a movie made about them. A musical comedy all in Japanese except, of course, the music. You may find it on You Tube. I did. If this is heaven think of an hour and a half of this.
The Swing Girls should not be allowed to fade into the History books. They have a fresh approach to swing and jazz of the big bands. At least an annual get together would be brilliant.
I luv it!! No they're not professional, but WHO CARES!?!?! this is classic swing played very well. I love hearing classic swing played right (not all hyped up and hyper like the swing revivalists) and recorded with modern equipment. Oh, if they'd only had better recording equipment in the 30's and 40's how glorious it would be to hear Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Woody Herman, Larry Clinton, Etc. in stereo.
Greetings from South Africa. That would be amazing! I would've loved to hear Benny's version of Sunrise Serinade even more if there was better equipment back then. I may be 25 year old but I love good music! I've nevery caught on to modern music and I don't think I ever will. Well done ladies! You are amazing! Keep it up in keeping this music alive!
I just stumbled upon this movie here in 2020. And being a former trumpet player and a lover of the big band music, I totally dig this movie!! I would have gladly paid to see these girls playing in person in concert somewhere. But I guess I'm too late for that. 😕 As good as they were, why only one concert??🤩🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺
The young ladies are keeping great music alive. I would love to see more young people do more of what they are doing! Whenever, I hear this song live, I cheer louder than a Concorde Jet!!
Little slow on the tempo, but other wise very well down. Love the attitude, You can tell they love performing the music live by the way they are moving and grooving along with it. That's what really turned me on to them.
Still, I would have to say this is very good for all of them only learning their instruments within months of the movie as well, as this concert...actually quite impressive :-) If they kept up their playing after the film, I'm sure they could be really awesome (I kinda hope that they continue playing...it'd be a shame to waste all that effort and potential just cuz they finished shooting the movie and doing these promo concerts).
unbelievable ! I remember the original rendering by Glen Miller & his band.... one can hardly discern a difference listening blindfolded to these girls ! Hurray !!
Like many great scientific advances, Pavlovian conditioning (aka classical conditioning) was discovered accidentally. During the 1890s, Russian physiologist, Ivan Pavlov was researching salivation in dogs in response to being fed. He inserted a small test tube into the cheek of each dog to measure saliva when the dogs were fed (with a powder made from 🐾). At With A Golden Spirit, our motto is “We just don’t rescue their body we rescue their Spirit.” Well our orphans are conditioned not like the aforementioned method (which we would never support) by Pavlov. We use the music from the Swing Girls and the song In the Mood - which by the way is our theme song on our web site. After the orphans are fed (all seniors) we play this song. They all get up strut into the other room tails wagging (swinging) to the beat of the music and will sit patiently to be given their medications(s) fifth eight pills in all plus CBD Oil. Yes, we are different and have been BLESSED by our CEO the LORD who directs this organization. Praise to our LORD!!! 🐾🐾
love the music they are making but wonder did they continue playing after the movie was over,,, how many still can play,,,, amazing they all learned how to play this well in that short of time,,, great job girls/guy
Its pretty nice, yes. But for my part has two lacks: first is the "dynamic" (forte, piano, crescendo etc. etc.) wich is essential in Glenn-Miller pieces; and second - and this a a lack of the director/conductor - there is no "swing" (anticipation). The girls played it technically good, but without swing. You cannot play a swing-piece like a classic theme. My old musicprof told me: " You cannot play jazz matematically or with strict rules. Jazz you have to FEEL inside, and when you see that people in front of you begin to wipe their feet, you know you are doing right". And yes, I played myself in a Combo (trombone) a long time ago and we had of course various themes from Glenn Miller in our program.
Hey Kansas,If you are a music lover, and know music, then you should be able to hear the difference, with the tempo of this great tune,of course people are going have a look at this girl brass band,to see and hear what they sound like..No need to get upset over the comment made by myself and Gamo98..Try listening to the Glen Miller Original again, then listen to the Swing Girls version..
@@rogerwaihaperoger.1157, I've been a Glen Miller fan for over 60 years and these girls are a joy to watch and listen to. It is obvious they are enjoying the music they're playing unlike some other bands I've seen that seem to be just playing the music only.
If you had read my comment properly you would have seen I played in a professional Big Band!! With In The Mood (as with all music) dynamics are part of the score. The final four part repeated section is a classic example. The first time it is played it played at Forti (loud), second time it isd a metzo forti (moderately loud), the third time either piano or pianissimo (quite or very quite) and the final time it is Fortisimo. That is what the composers wanted when they wrote In The Mood.
Love this great band!
They play 80 year old music and make it so vibrant.
My parents’ absolute favorite Glenn Miller song.
Music of World War II was wonderful. So many emotions.
Swing Girls thanks for the memories of the forties! Keep on playing it's great music. Let the world hear your excellent swing music form years ago!

dBeautiful~!!~
I hope that they continue to make music for us. I just love all the effort they put into their music and make it seem so casual. Great listening to them.
What a beatiful experience and delightful listening music from young girls, BRAVO !!!
If the rest of the movie is as good as this scene, it’s gotta be a classic.

I'm an old sax man and this DOES it for me! BRAVO !
Love it, love it, love it!! I'm a "Big Band Sound" lover and trombone player. This brought back memories of high school band fun.
In the Mood is a Great Song in any era. And these Girls are keeping Swing Alive 💃💃💃💃🎼🎬🎹🥁🎺🎷🎤

Brilliant film and fantastic time that they all learnt to play in zero to 60 in zilch time, great achievement. Really great sound too! Ace!
A whole band of Japanese girls playing my favorite kind of music? This IS heaven! やった!
There was a movie made about them. A musical comedy all in Japanese except, of course, the music. You may find it on You Tube. I did. If this is heaven think of an hour and a half of this.
I've been a saxophone player for many years and I don't find ANYTHNG wrong with these young musicians. No, they're not pros but they are DAMN good.
they're really good, considering they spent like six months training like hell to do some music scenes for a movie, then took the show on the road
Your hearing must be shot. I don't blame the girls, but their music director could not even spell "in the mood".
Not ready for Glen Miller, but then who is. Pretty good for young folks. I liked very much, and they will only get better.
@@rancidpitts8243theyd been playing for about 5 months at the point. They all learned these instruments just for a movie. They're insanely good
@@ahhhhyes I am 77 years old. My parents danced to that music, and played it at home. A live Band with little experience, they are damn GOOD.
Great job. Played in jazz bands through college, and it's not easy. You have the right spirit and enthusiasm. And you sound great!...
The Swing Girls should not be allowed to fade into the History books. They have a fresh approach to swing and jazz of the big bands. At least an annual get together would be brilliant.
"should not be allowed"???? who are you to judge?
polybo---You are 100% right ! ! !
being a female trombonist, saxophonist and trumpeter, it really inspires me to see women playing more than just the clarinet or flute.
In The Mood is one of my favorite tunes, it's on my smartphone, it's in my Playlist.

never seen such happyness a band of japanese girls play my parents favorite music,im amazed
This is truly lovely indeed. I'm flattered by your effort, great push- pull rhythm.
Whats with the hating? If any one can do better in a couple of months then by all means God bless you. They sound great!
Great music Ladies!!!!! Brings back memories
Actually part of a larger show that included their learning to play. Great show (movie/TV) program with other classic swing songs.
When I get to Japan , I hope t o steal away a few of these ladies for my band . Love the style .
Fantastic listening! They sound great!
Wow, I've heard many bands play this, these girls are one of the best.
