- Barry White is John's idol and he cannot perform properly in court or in the bedroom if he cannot draw inspiration from the persona of White. Whenever John needs inspiration he stands in front of a mirror, most often in the unisex bathroom, and starts dancing to White's song "You're the First, the Last, My Everything" which he hears in his mind. Occasionally, John also dances to other songs by White. Whenever other people walk in on John's dancing they often join in.

There wasn't any show which fulfilled me with so much laughter and joy like Ally McBeal. The friendship, the parties, the late night talks, the music, the dancing. It's fiction but it was what I wanted from my future life back then.

Man...its 2022 and I'm watching it all the way thru for the first time...i remember a good bit from when it first came out when i was almost a teenager and it's my absolute guilty pleasure...i REALLY wish they still made shows this good. Hilarious dumb jokes, hilarious REAL jokes, they could say non pc stuff without people getting "cancelled" because people KNEW it was a joke and not spreading "hate speech" (thats gotta be one of my most detested phrases🙄🙄🙄) and could laugh about and also allude to sex without freakin showing it, the list goes on and on. My 7 year old sometimes lets it catch her attention and even tho she might not understand everything, i don't have to run her out of the room or have her cover her eyes...some of her favorite parts are when they'd play the wicked witch theme when Ling would enter the building and when she growls, and when John would do his dismounts😂😂😂 we need a reunion, just a little six part special or something lol

My favourite song, the best parts of the show of Allie Mcbeal. My favourite show. I felt sad when it came to end.
The last scene gave me goosebumps and made me cry! This show will always be one of my favorites!

I loved this show! It was so different and thoroughly entertaining. It always helped me forget the worries of the day for a brief minute. I wish they made shows like this now.

Allie McBeal: the most quirky, fun, intense, and complicated-personal-relationship show ever. They did sh*t that wasn't done before or after (or, if it was, was done poorly enough to not merit noting). The late, incredibly GREAT Mr. Barry White was kind enough to lend himself & his music to this show. It was amazing. This group found the exact balance between real & fun. xx

BARRY WHITE would put anyone in the mood, most definitely, and certainly in the best of moods to dance. You can't listen to Barry without tapping your foot or moving some part of your body. Barry is a legend with the Golden voice of love in music. No one can compare to the one and only Barry White. This was fantastic to hear his music in this way on a great show.

I love this people and the series. Without the actor Peter MacNicol as John Cage, the series probably wouldn't have been so successful. And Mr. 'Sex-Voice' Barry White uh my God R.I.P ❤
I love this show and how most of the main cast all had their own personal love doctors. John had Barry White, Billy had Sam McClain, Richard had Tom Jones and Ally had Al Green while Vonda Shepherd was the voice of the whole cast. Ally Mcbeal was truly unique and still unsurpassed in many ways.
What a great show this was. The creativity and genius of David E Kelley never ceased to amaze.

Didn't realize I was a Barry White fan until watching entire Ally McBeal series for the first time just this year. I was a young lawyer myself when it aired originally. My experiences in and out of court were nothing like on the show, but today, looking back with nostalgia, I wish they had been! Lol!

Peter MacNicoll was a gift to any and all fans of dramatic comedy. Also a very good dancer for someone with no apparent natural ability. Portia DeRossi was also very under appreciated as an actor in this series.
Lot of People's start of their career or jumpstarted their career! also some of the Top star cameos , and it all Started on this show and made them huger for the next 2 decades

Ohhhh my God, en 2006 tuve mi primer cancer de mama (seno) y tuve mucha suerte despues de tratamiento se desaparecio. Pero cada vez que llegaba a mi appart. Me ponia a bailar la Musica de Barry White, todos los dias y realmente me ayudo mucho... siempre sigo escuchandolo... Quizas no con tanta energia... pero en mi hubo algo magico pk llegaba de la chimio y bailaba Durante una hora.... Me encantaba este hombre nunca tuve la suerte de conocerlo pero transmit a algo.... Tuve un 2do cancer pero para mi su cancion me da fuerzas.... Y sigo escuchando... ARRIVA da mucha ganas de bailar y pk no Bailar si estamos triste.. Con una gripe.. enfermos etc etc etc la Musica te levanta la moral... Realmente... Yo vivi esos momentos muy bien.... Soy tan positives que no deseo escuchar nada negativo y los animos a escuchar no importa que Musica... Lo hice y tuve despues de 11 otro cance.. Pero aqui estoy de pie no se hasta cuando... Vamos hermanos... Nosotros podemos... Besos

I think that I need to get out my complete series box set. It is hard to believe that this show is more than two decades old. This scene was one of the absolute best. My bestie and I would call each other half way through each episode to discuss what we just watched. So many wonderful memories.
