Braleven Folk punks ain't lost, they know exactly where they are. Except for when they're really, really drunk or when they wake up somewhere other than wherever they were the last time they remembered anything. Like waking up in some stranger's bathtub with only one shoe and puke all in your hair. Why do drunks always be losing their shoes? Is that where all those shoes on the side of the road come from. Fuck yeah. love this song!
I’ve come back after 8 years of this being posted to say, this is what the folk punk community is to me. Everyone alive is hurting, but we are alive and we are together.
this is probably the most awesome ramshackle video ive seen. this must have been such an amazing show. what a delightful group of weirdos that place is full of
I was born in Brooklyn, I was Shanghaid to Montpelier, then sentenced to auburn Washington cause I got caught smoking some dirt weed, within a week I did my first line and so it goes... I think “what if they never left Brooklyn, would I be happy or dead, or something else but getting to see the Wingnut Union with all of you...I think would be a great thing indeed.
I love how Pat just sits back and lets everyone participate. Him and the other singer don't tell people to shut up so they can hear them. They want everyone to sing along if that's what they want to do. I love it
This was such a great fucking show. Everybody singing in solidarity with one another, there wasn't even a small amount of hate/dislike there. Really glad I went, I ended up meeting what became 2 of my best friends here!
I have the most respect for Patrick no more bunny he's helped me through some tough times glad I got to meet him and see one show of his its by fair the best experience to have met someone in person who truly touched so many broken and lost kids such as myself
The magic of live performances: When you are in a room full of people drowning out a band that you felt like nobody else knew about. A rare occurrence but you never forget them when it happens.
This made me cry and I wish I could have been there and one day I dream to be able to experience something like this. Though sadly with them playing their last show I have missed my chance.
I've seen bands come and go. There will always be another show to catch. The entire band has amazing side projects that include Douglas Fur and Cottontail. The Hills and the Rivers + Cousin Boneless are also great people with the same energy. Check them out next time they're on tour.
I know all of those and they are on my list of bands to see. Cottontail is located in Durham NC if I am not mistaken and that is where I live though sadly they never play here.
If you've been there these lyrics hit hard in a spot even to the man who wrote them. As you'll notice the only part Pat starts to sing along is at the lyrics. "I'm lying down, I've been nodding out since I don't know when The lights are on, you're standing up screaming at a ghost again Darling, I'm home, hell I ain't left this house of ours in days But I'm not here. I never am, so I just can't stay."
These guys got me through a difficult time with my drug addiction and in some way they helped me get sober for 2 years! Their words spoke for me when I couldn't speak up.
I battle severe depression and have been in a major slump lately. this is partly because I have been unsure of what direction to take my life.... I have known this song by pat for a long time, but I never heard it like this before. I just sat here and had the biggest cry I have had in years, and now I feel so much better, and understand where to move ahead with my life........thank you ramshackle glory....thank you Pat, and thanks FTS for the upload, I love you all
Glad you enjoy the music. Our community is one of the best things going in American music. Reach out if you ever need someone to talk to. I could send you some bootlegs I haven't posted.
Ohhhhhhh fuck every one knows that its not the best qualaty of sound but all the power and feeling on this its something thath i dont have any words . Soooooo fucking beautiful !!!!
Of course I find out about Pat after he retired.
Same :(
Seriously
At least you found out.
Someone should make a tribute band to continue the legacy, I've seen so many great covers on youtube that have the energy he had
Same
Oh my god, I fucking love it. It's like a church hymn for lost folk punks.

Pat, I hope you understand how important you are. Thank you for everything. I hope to see you perform some day.
The amount of times I've re-watched this video because of the wonderful feeling it gives me is insane.

@@curlysairsoft mega oof
This is the first time and I'm crying too.
This is so beautiful. It has the same vibe as The Band’s “The Last Waltz”
I'm speechless. What a show that must've been
Watching this amazing, beautiful video in 2020 in a world without live music is absolutely heartbreaking.
We've lost so much.
