So we make fun of Darkstar but don't say anything about a guy named Hugh hammer?
People make fun of Dark Star because of a modern joke about edgy kids, which probably really didn’t exist when Dark Star was conceived as a character.
@@jessebourbeau1616 Believe me, I was a gothling in the late 80's, and I was late to the game. This breed of edgy kids has been around forever. I could see Lou Reed and David Bowie hanging out with someone who called themself Darkstar back in the 70's. In fact, Bowie's last album was called Black Star, but he was already genuinely cooler than anyone else alive, had nothing left to prove to anyone, and was writing his own requiem, so he was allowed to use it with zero cringe.
Hugh had a hammer and a dragon
“Hugh Hammer” as a name is entirely cooler than “Darkstar.” And Darkstar is an edgy douche whilst Hugh is not.
One is an aggro goth kid who is an asshole. The other is an aggro jock who is also an asshole. Personally, I appreciate both characters equally.
I'm gonna tear up in the scene where Hugh says "It's Hammer time" and hammers all over the Blacks. Truly the stuff they make songs of.
I honestly never connected the Hugh's dream to Robert Baratheon. It was so obviously self-serving I never thought it could mean more.
Daeron and the Caltrops are so cool, I pray that we get a good adaptation of both in the show
Highlight of team Green for me.
Bold Jon Roxton is a small part but I love him nonetheless
@@QuinnTheGMI agree.
Aerion Brightflame is probably an "evil dragon dreamer"
as for the blood and cheese thing, which I think you're right to think about in these terms, I suspect the key will be in the editing. I think this will be a moment when they need to choose to cut away instead of showing what's actually happening. no one needs to see a child actually killed, we're smart enough to understand that that's what's happened if they cut away at the right time. you just can't do that with children on TV.
Remember when Daemon and Viserys argued, Viserys admitted that they fucked their way through Street of Silk?..
And there is a leaked photo from season 2 showing Kieran Bew during King's Landing riot, which made me think he is a smith from KL in the show.
Him being Viserys' bastard from teenage adventures would make more sense if he is from KL.
The actor also looks older than Rhaenyra, which would fit that timeline.
I don't think we have to worry about people abandoning the show after blood and cheese, I think its what people expect and want from a game of thrones connected show. And I just got all my family to watch game of thrones and when Brann is pushed from the tower they all thought he was dead and the drama of that got them hooked.
I remember getting my husband to watch it the first time and he literally did not believe Ned was actually dead after the first season. Poor guy. 😂
@@cpolt1192Ned will come back in the story at some point. His bones are in a place where it keeps being foreshadowed that dead people will come back to life.
@@pyramidion5911no he wont😂
I hope Hugh Hammer and Jon Roxton kill each other in the show but Roxton’s “You died in the battle, Lord Hammer” line is so badass. It should definitely be used.
One of my favorite quotes from Fire and Blood.
They will condense all Caltrops lords into one character with named UNLOSE PEAKE.
@@azekeprofitoh god, this stings because it's likely to happen
@@azekeprofitUNLOSE PEAKE sounds like a prophetized hero of house Peake that is fated to be born at the end of times so that the Peakes get to dab all over Westeros one last time
We don’t get Daeron until season 3 and you’re hoping for jon roxton? Nah hes getting cut.
I just hope we get more of an explanation for their betrayal beyond simply wanting more power
Same it really felt like GRRM going this fight is to one sided... need to have some betrayals to kill people off. Like they were on the winning side, had dragons, lands, money... what else did they want?
Making one of them a guy pushed to this incredibly dumb decision by having constant prophetic dreams would explain it.
I think that its a perfect reason, they arent loyalist, they are lowborn who were scoffed or ignored by the elites of westeros. Rhaneyra only wanted to use them as weapons and after that dispose of them with little fanfare. They want power because it represebts all the things they lacked as lowborn peasanta, but they are uneducated and stupid enough to ignore how to manipulate and use other people to obtain said power. Hugh wants to use his dragon as did the conqueror, but he lacks the wits of the conqueror, and more importantly he is a lowborn, never to be accepted among the great houses.
He struck me as very ominous. Made me sad he was able to mount Vermithor. Beloved Thunder Worm.
Young Viserys fathering a bastard actually makes LOADS of sense considering how difficult it was for Aemma to make children. He thought “worse case scenario, I could legitimize a bastard son.”
It also makes sense that Viserys would be fine with Rhaenyra passing off bastards as her heirs since Laenor couldn’t give her children. A very relatable situation for him
I don’t see Viserys doing that. He truly LOVED Aemma.
@@carastone3473You can still love someone and do something to dishonor them for the sake of duty. You risk forsaking that love, but we have seen that, at least in the show, Viserys was willing to forsake a lot to provide that heir.
@@carastone3473He loves her enough to remarry Alicent by springs end. A few months after Aemma’s death… a death he caused (in the show at least). He loved her so much that he had not 1… not 2… not 3… but 4 children with another women so soon after she died. How romantic.
@@joshuaadams6565 He's a monarch, that's one of his prime duties. It was a practicality.
@@joshuaadams6565 he loved her so much that ordering her death haunted him to the end of his life, he loved her so much he wore _her_ wedding ring for the rest of his life, he loved her so much he wanted to crown Rhaenyra queen to honoru Aemma's memory. He loved Aemma so much he at least once mistook Alicent for her, and died with the thought of Aemma on his mind.
He married Alicent for duty, and he married her one year after Aemma died, not 'a few months'.
I hope they do Blood and Cheese as terrible as it can be. Let it scare the people away. Let it get banned in some countries. Because the only thing that will do is make more people want to watch the episode. We lived through the red wedding. What’s one child beheaded to a sea of people? Also this is my second comment and I don’t want to be terrible here xD best of luck on your exams! If you can argue a point like you do in your videos you’re gunna pass with flying colors ❤️
Do you plan to keep making dragon nerd content once you’re a lawyer? You’re one of my favorite ASOIAF RUclipsrs, I’d be sad to see you go
I can’t imagine I’d ever fully give this up. Uploads might not be as consistent at that point, but I’d miss this channel too much to shut it down entirely.
According to The World of Ice and Fire, Hugh isn't even any specific Targaryen's bastard. He's explicitly referred to as a _blacksmith's_ bastard, implying he's the bastard son of a blacksmith who is himself in turn descendant of a Targaryen.
Here's hoping we see Mushroom at some point.
I think we see him at Rhaenyra’s wedding to Laenor.
@@Rougarou99yeah we did, and honestly its best they arent focusing on him, shows how alot of the time the recorders of history arent as involved as we think and fill in alot of gaps with their imagination
With the dragon seeds only ever having much prominence in the (and Ig blackfyre rebellion if that can count) I’d wish we got to know more about if any other existed perhaps in the modern era and if roberts rebellion potentially took any out or made them go into hiding.
My biggest concern with Blood & Cheese isn't that it will scare away viewers, but that the showrunners will whitewash it. They already whitewashed Team Black significantly by letting Laenor live and not connecting Corlys to the Fire at Harrenhal. If they are worried that Blood & Cheese might be too much for the audience, I could easily see them making it "an accident" like they did Aemond vs. Luke. Maybe Daemon just tells Blood & Cheese to scare the royal family, or take the children captive and smuggle them to Dragonstone, but then something goes wrong and they kill them instead. I don't think I could handle another bullshit agency-robbing decision for the sake of making Daemon and Rhaenyra look better when 80% of the audience is already rooting for them because Matt Smith & Girl Power.
For your worries about the bad thing that'll likely happen in episode 1 and turn some ppl away, I wouldn't worry personally, in GOT during the 1st episode of season 2 we had the baby massacre in kingslanding that was pretty explicit, and can't remember that turning ppl away
Best of luck on your finals mine are next week too
Aerion Brightflame had dragon dreams and was in Dunk and Egg, and I would not call him a good or neutral person 🤣 granted yes we get so little of him, but I would still say he defitnely counts.
*Spoiler*
I am so god damn excited for Blood and Cheese purely because of Helaena. If it wasn’t so damn brutal that scene would have so much award potential.
I am unbelievably excited for daemon and aemonds fight over the gods eye
Great video, and very interesting take away in regards to Hugh being a dragondreamer, I completely forgot about his visions of the Trident. ALSO I want to traumadump and just let it be known that I hate Hugh and Ulf for ruining two cool ass dragons especially in Silverwing.
At least Silverwing survived!
I didn’t think Hugh was a dreamer in the book, it was just that the prophecy existed. Though it would make sense if the show made it like that, it would certainly add complexity to a glorified thug.
I hope he is Viserys’ son and I hope Trystane Truefyre is too. I take great amusement in Viserys fathering yet another terrible person in Hugh and the fact that four of his children claimed to be monarch.
It's pretty clear that he was a dreamer, dood straight up dreamth rhaegars death at the trident and the rise of king Bobby b, but without proper context, like daeron seeing Dunk with a dead dragon (likely a dead adult aegon the 5th) but daeron lacked context
@@Lumistrocity I had actually checked back on the text (my paper copy, so I could have missed something) and all it said was that Hugh was bolstered by a prophecy, not where it came from. I would love to know which chapter and section the dream evidence is. Where the prophecy came from is definitely of interest.

Yk what would make Hugh Hammer better? If he was Darkstar ☺️
Just imagine the chaos if Hugh Hammer took the Iron Throne by force and became King (If even for a fortnight). Magnifico 👌🏾
I actually preferred the theory which says that he and/or Ulf the White could actually be Vizzy T's bastard brothers, from brief affairs that Baelon had in the years after Alyssa's death
I was hoping we'd get Nettles in the show too, but she may appear later on. Still hoping for one of the most interesting characters. I'm also looking forward to the moon of madness, and how they'll go about putting that to the screen.
Good luck on finals Quinn!
Hugh Hammer.
Hammer of the Waters.
Coincidence?
Many people are saying this
He betrays Rhaenyra
Based
Thank you for ruining your expensive education to bring us this light amusement! ;)
How do you feel about the theory that Nettles is Daemon's daughter? I personally always read their relationship that way, and to me, it explains certain things like the claiming of Sheepstealer. She was able to tame a fully wild dragon, she has to have a high degree of Valyrian blood despite her looks.
8:20 -DISCUSSING HOTD S2/S3 SPOILERS ASSUMING YOU HAVE READ ALL OF "FIRE AND BLOOD."
Spoilers follow so please scroll back up if this is unacceptable t'thee.
Regarding *that* imminent Blood/Cheese scene, I bet they will heavily imply but not exactly show, depending on when in the episode/season they have it.
Might be we will get a cold open tracking shot showing them stealtging through a secret tunnel, *detailed* map in hand. (Implying someone with spy knowledge provided it to them.)
Or it could be used as a "prelude scene cut to black/silent credits" type of closing scene where we haven't seen them since cold open, then a warm, loving family moment is suddenly interrupted by hard men dropping down the chimney our out of a privy. Of course chaos would ensue and camera would pan away to the mother's face as Blood and Cheese grin maniaclly and taunt at them all. Then finally when she decides, it shows them smile and raise their swords, cutting (no pun intended) back to the mother's face as her sobbing turns into hysterical screaming before smash editing to the black screen silent credits
I'm so sick of people saying they hope Daeron is in the show. Ryan Condall has said many times that Daeron is in Oldtown squiring for his uncle.
I’m more concerned with seeing tessarion than Daeron tbh. I want to see the blue queen and the cannibal more than anything lol
King Daemon Blackfyre the 2nd was a good guy.
Viserys was not a dreamer, and it would make his character thematically weaker if he was imo. I see him as someone who wishes that he'd been tested and had special magic dreams bc he's painfully aware of how unremarkable and unsuited to rule he is. He wants his kingship to be justified by a magical destiny, and not just a series of random accidents and political happenstance. There's a beautiful very GRRMian irony in an ordinary dream becoming the worst version of a self-fulfilling prophecy bc the dreamer so desperately wanted it to be true.
In the show, Viserys shows prophetic tendencies. He correctly names his namesake as the future king Viserys II.
@@MrJero85 He says he has a "name fit for a king", clearly making a joke about them sharing a name. Literally everyone in that room besides Daemon ends up king at some point, doesn't make sense for him to only point out Viserys II if it's supposed to be some prophetic thing.
@MossyQualia Because in order for baby Viserys to become king, the dynasty would have to bleed. He's the youngest son of the princess. His prophecy is that not only would the blacks would win and that the youngest son would inherit. It's predicting the ultimate outcome of a war that hasn't begun.
Imagine your grandfather suggesting all your other brothers would die. It's a terrible thing to say.
And it's not really a joke, it's just a statement. This baby will become king.
I sat my mum down and made her read the pages of Blood and Cheese so she would know whats going on and be able to step out without missing what acrually happens 😅
How the hell is my awesome beautiful Twisted Fam of Ice and Fire doing today??

I thought the dragon seeds idea came from Jace
My first read I liked Hugh until he betrayed the queen. But Addam and Alyn Velaryon are the goats. Btw you should finish walking dead lol it gets pretty good.
Read and loved the comics, not so hot on the later parts of the show.

Here’s a Property Law poem: Of fee simple and simple fee/And all that fees entail/Are nothing when compared to thee/The best of fees, female.
I’m a few seconds in and heard about your property law school exam so I’m hoping you work in a Blackacre reference by video’s end….
I’m not watching Blood and Cheese. It was hard enough to read. If bitterbridge is a thing, not watching it either. There’s a reason I am comfortable litigating probate matters (in the worst cases, it’s grown ups arguing like children over who gets what stuff) and not comfortable with divorce, family law or anything else involving actual children.
Good luck with your exams.
Wasn’t it a rando Woods Witch who told him that?
Daemon II Blackfyre was an evil dragon dreamer but he was kind of a joke lol. High Hammer is much more imposing imo. I’m excited to see him! Also good luck on finals, we are in the same boat here lmao 😂
I considered talking about Daemon II, but I don’t necessarily view him as evil. I think he was trying to do his best by his father, and wasn’t tied up in bittersteel’s schemes. Thank you for the well-wishes, good luck to you too!
I just wanna see all the Black fans start justifying betrayal when we finally see Lord Borros be backstabbed after taking so many heads.
Ulf should be the dreamer since he’s a drunken sot

Wait is this guy a law student?
How is them killing off those two characters at the beginning of season 7 of the walking dead a bad writing choice? I'm genuinely curious cuz I've seen other say that and all it comes back too is ppl being upset at them killing a character they really liked. That's a part of storytelling, i agree the wrtting fell off around season 7 and 8 buy not because of what happened in season 7 ep1. I mean one of the deaths is literally exactly what happened in the comics.
The negan killings was something that twd never recovered from.
It was a combination of a dumb cliffhanger and the death of two favorite characters, especially after glenns fake out death.
They said in interviews they were going to handle Glens death differently then the book then did it the exact same and killed Abraham the show is a fucking joke
I always thought that the four dragons seeds were direct descendants but who they're parentage is I have theories but many will probably disagree but still I will say them
Hugh hammer- I think could be the bastard son of princess gael. She reportedly died of childbirth, by getting pregnant by a singer and they said the child died but I like the theory it survived but they kept it a secret.
Addam velayrion- I believe is the bastard son of laenor bc laenor has dragon blood through rhaenys and corlys doesn't have any dragon riding genes so to me sea smoke could sense a blood tie too laenor in looks and genetics and laenor could've been force too do sexual acts with women but he didn't enjoy it.
Ulf the white- I believe is a bastard of daemon Targaryen I believe he may have left a bastard child in one of the many women he was sleeping with since he was known to enjoy brothels.
Nettles- I believe will be revealed too have magic in her blood she could have child of the Forrest in her DNA and used old spells and cunning too bond with the dragon.
Those are my crazy theories.
I can't get my head around how they try so desperate to get black people in the show only to pass on the one cannonicly black person of greater interest.
Also I LOVE this idea of Hugh and I know I will be disappointed if they don't do it
Stop procrastinating, good luck on your exam
Ugh property, one of my least favorite topics.
Fee simple absolute.
Easement by prescription.

Good luck Quinn.
Best part of F&B is when everyone (dragonseeds mostly) turn on Rhaenrya. Down goes the pretender!
You need to put more serious spoiler warnings on your videos. Didn't know about hugh hammer :/
For real :(
I think the title is incredibly deceptive that has not nor probably ever will be confirmed plus to me it feels incredibly out of character for viserys to be a adulterer yes he has many flaws chiefly and most obvious failing to set a clear succession but i believe he truly loves his family especially his wives and because of that he wouldn't ever commit adultery it just doesnt fit the character
May be a bastard born from viserys's youthful exploits fucking his way though most of the brothels on the street of silk
He and Daemon literally talk about "fucking their way through the street of silk as young men" or whatever in episode 4 I think. Whether he was an "adulterer" or not, it's essentially confirmed that he got around as a young man...
Hotd is a piece of hot garbage that ignores the themes of the story for the sake of pushing their feminist narrative.
GRRM has been a feminist since the 70's. If you missed those themes in his books, then that's on you.
