Karma pa khen no! with highly regard and respect from the depth of my heart; I cannot agree that we have to say, Buddha was born in Nepal. to say that, there has to be country or nation called Nepal during Buddha's time, but it doesn't exit at that time. It has to be very clear because it became sort of controversial. Gohn sen shu. 🙏🙏🙏
When it comes to the birth of Buddha in our ancient texts, it’s mentioned འཕགས་ཡུལ་ So, we are inclined to think according to ancient times and think it’s India. However, INDIA was known as BHARAT in ancient times and India is the new name the British rulers gave to their dominion. Since, borders have changed over centuries, the Lord Buddha’s birth place called Lumbini is now based in Nepal. Thats why, we should say BUDDHA WAS BORN IN BHARAT AND NOT INDIA! This will not create any misunderstanding among the Nepalese. As far as ཇོ་བོ་རྗེ་ is concerned we can still say, he was born in Bengal and there is no problem.
@@jampathupten3591 I think you are ignorant of the controversy that was kicked up by the Nepalese when HH The Dalai Lama said unwittingly “was Buddha not born in India”? The Nepalese got incensed and kick up lot of dust in the social media. Even their PM Oli weighed in to the controversy and started saying unpleasant things! Buddy! Don’t bury your head in the sand. Look around and learn to do the politically correct thing. I was conscious of this and wanted to enlighten people on the sensitivities surrounding the Buddha’s birth place!
