I lost my wonderful husband 3 years ago and we were married 53 years. Within our love for one another, we were good friends who thought alike with so many things...and said, "I'm sorry" when necessary. God bless you too Father Kirby.
Thank you Fr. Kirby. Your thoughts on the sanctity of marriage is so spot on. We must persevere in our relationships especially when we encounter trials and tribulations. Lord bless you.
In Feb. we celebrate our 68th Anniversary. We have been blest with 5 children, 14 grands, 8 great grands, many of whom have spouses. Our faith and at least weekly Mass helped us. Love is wanting the best for your spouse and believe both of us truly lived that.
I'm so sorry to hear this, Daniel. Try to convince your wife to attend Retrouvaille. It's a Catholic ministry for troubled marriages and it saved my marriage 19 years ago..
Thanks Fr Kirby. I have been told that I am too honest and people think that is bad. I take it as a compliment and will be continue to be honest even if it gets me in trouble. Make it a great day 😀
Loved seeing you on Journey Home on EWTN. I love your point that the world has coopted Christian gifts such as marriage and charity and we have to fight back for these institutions
Father Kirby, my husband and I have been together as a gay couple for 54 years. We attend Mass every Sunday, we sing in the choir we receive Holy Communion from our Gay priest . When will the church accept that God created some of us us as gay man and women. There was no box to check who we would be. My Savior Jesus Christ was here to preach love and he never said anything about gay or straight. If it was important to him he would have said it in his life with us. Yes we trust, love, and are surprised with each other every day, we live our lives a Christians. I am so surprised the Roman Catholic Church continues to toss away gay people with hundreds of churches closing. The church needs to wake up.
Please PRAY for people who feel that call to holy matrimony but cannot find a person to love. The loneliness is very painful, and something that we long-married folks really cannot understand.
God bless you Fr. Kirby. I was meant to hear this message. I lost my beautiful wife more than 2 years ago. Besides being my soulmate, she was my best friend. We were only together a relatively short time compared to long marriages but I never felt more confident or safe than when we were together. I know that this time of my life was a blessing from almighty God.

Right on Fr.! Plus we learn things like patience, forgiveness, perseverance, endurance, joy, comfort, compromise, sacrifice.... God is so GOOD.
