If I do have a device that can measure heartrate (e.g. like a Garmin watch) would you recommend still using the talk-test or rather using the heartrate as a measure?
Heart rate is a good tool but can be influenced by caffeine, being stressed or the device reacting to changes in weather. (Like my Garmin in the winter) RPE takes time to dial in but when you do you always have the best indication of your zones.
