We see Dame Edna live a few years back in SF. Having front row seats, by wife was called on stage...she embarrassed the Hell out of my poor wife! But, what a laugh we all had.
I believe Joan Rivers was the person to bring Dame Edna to the USA. Barry and Joan are comedy royalty. You can see Joan appreciates just how good Barry is and allows Edna to just do her thing!
I remember this, and I remember thinking that Joan Collins and George Hamilton are sooo totally into themselves, or at least appear to be, that the humor of Dame Edna was really only appreciated by Joan Rivers -

O - you must see the late great Kenny Everett's Cunning Stunt from the 70s and early 80s (that is her name !)
