She just sits in the garage but anyway, keep the project going. Reminder, Lightnings are known for their super charged motors, and that sweet winding sound. It kinda sucks finding parts for these trucks. I have a legit 01 gen 2 ⚡ and there's so much stuff I wish they made reproduction that they don't make. ⚡ Specific steering wheel (looks exactly like a Stang wheel but the mustang wheel won't work😢) black master window switch, oem side skirts etc.......On top of that, everything has gone through the roof since COVID. I was gonna buy the black suede from LMR, used to be bout $500, cost 1k now, shit is spendy.
yeah bro I wanted to try and use parts that were actually oem like the side skirts and rims but I had no luck finding a part out lightning

I wanna do this on my 97 think it’ll look as good as yours? I heard there’s a difference on the 97 and 98.
it’ll look better than mine bro🙏🏼but I think the only difference on those years is that the bottom part of the shells is straight unlike the 99-03 shells have the lump on the bottom

got the grille from my hb bro he got it from lmr.com but to put it on there should be surface areas on the bumper so you can screw the grille on

I think the only thing you would have to replace is the shell( the part around your grill) cuz I think the 97 and 98 shells are straight from the bottom.
For the front bumper was it a direct bolt on? Or what else other than the bumper do u need to make it work
Just bolt on bro. honestly if you wanted to you could even use zip ties for reinforcement

Bro does the 5.4 bolt up directly to the old 4.6? Or how many issues will there be switching over from 4.6 to 5.4

How did you add the bumper bro? I have one but don’t know how to mount it
just take off the lower valance from the original bumper and push in the lightning one onto the top part from the original and when you push it in it should stick but try to align it so it can fit even from both ends and afterwards just bolt on from both edges
Is the 4.2 reliable. Found one with 177k for $5000
I have one that I’m working on right now to clone it, runs decent just baby then regular maintenance and tune ups
I've had one for 12 years now and that lil 4.2 is rock solid. Survived my abuse since I was a crazy 18 year old lol and then to college and then to work when I was driving 200 miles daily for almost 5 months 6 days a week. How many miles does it have? Don't know since it the odometer stopped spinning at 156k 10 years ago.
