Can you do reverse stenciling with acrylics!?

My guess would be no since acrylic dries permanent where watercolor can be rewet and lifted off the paper after it dries….but if there is a solvent that can remove dry acrylic then maybe that would work…or just use the stencil and paint with white acrylic 😁
