I have had silver/grey hair before and it did make me feel much older as well, but you don't look old at all! People can be cruel, don't listen to the haters, if YOU like it that's all that matters!

I know how you feel about hairdressers. I have never in my life ever encountered one that would LISTEN to what I want. I could spend 15 minutes telling them exactly how I want it cut and show them pictures but that is never what I end up with and I just come home and hack away at my hair myself.
I haven't been to a hairdressers for many years . I am confident enough to cut and colour my own hair and I do it well . I love bright coloured hair and for this summer I have it Violet , Atlantic blue and Cerise and it's so pretty and vibrant .

I go to the hair school instead. I'm nonbinary and have short curly hair. I like having a more masculine cut, but if I go to a regular salon they always want to leave it as long as possible and I kept getting the Karen cut. I'm like no bish I want it SHORT and I wanna look like a Chad with curls K. At the hair school the ones just out of high school get it lol. Finally finally someone cut it short enough.
My mom also does it now and was also leaving it longer than I wanted. She never would let me cut my hair as a kid, but now she recently just shaved the sides and back baby smooth bald and in like finallymllylylyl I feel seen

I cannot imagine how the hair color made others say you look old... but then again I started getting grey hair when I was about your age (not exactly recently) and it's been expensive trying to not make the grey hair age me.
I'm more mesmerized by the fact you went to a professional for the haircut. The cut did work very well with the grey version as well, though I was eager for the pink to see the makeup that would go with it.

I kinda feel like 14 year olds are up to date with hair trends and would see the grey (gray?) as modern and trendy. It's the boomers (who have actual greys growing in) that are jealously projecting their own insecurities onto her. Just a theory, and I truly hope that I am wrong. Old people need to act like adults now, or we won't when we are in charge (of the laws governing their retirement community😅).

I love the pattern idea for how to do the split dye definitely when you do the next color you should do the split again but with more dramatic different colors like pink and lilac, it looks so nice pink and also always!

You should do a two week challenge to just use direct dyes every two weeks, colors that can go right on top of the old color. You look gorgeous either way! There are people who say that to anyone who dyes their hair grey, literally anyone. I work at a hair salon, my coworker is 19 and dyed her hair grey. One of the other stylist's clients kept saying (within earshot of the coworker with grey hair!) "Who would do that to their hair? Why would you want to look old?" She's 19!
