Thank you so much Annie you are wonderful and so knowledgeable!! So is Casey!
Thank you for such a great tutorial! Just watching zippers ‘zip,’ fascinates me! I’ve see the zipper yardage before but couldn’t understand how it all works! Your thoroughness is much- appreciated ❤
This lady is a pro! Thank you so much for the detailed instructions. :)
Annie, you are the best teacher! Thank you!
Oh my gosh! Thank you! Such a wonderful tutorial! Just the tutorial that I will need!
Whoo Hoo!! 60 years of avoiding zippers ...thank you.
So glad I came across your video! I really couldn’t get the hang of attaching the sliders to zipper tape, but with your tutorial, I am going to try again as you have so meticulously demonstrated. Thanks for such a great tutorial! 😊
Great explanations on how to install zippers sliders etc- thank you x
Brilliant easy to follow video.. Thanks for making and sharing
EXCELLENT- PROFESSIONALLY taught
this was brilliant - thank you!
Thank you ! I had cut zipper and with your guidance managed to attach the slider on my first attempt with no fuss or fumbling at all!
Your teaching style is amazing. I zip (lol) through hundreds of videos for learning skill sets and if the instructor cannot capture and hold my attention within five minutes, then I move on. It’s pointless to complete a video that steals the motivation and joy at learning. I was recently introduced to your zippers from the sew Sampler subscription box from the Fat Quarter Shop ( favorite quilting/sewing shop - second to none ) and I quickly started reading my pattern and laying out the steps. I was up till 2am gearing up for the project this weekend. I also quickly went to your online site because a few utube influencers recommended your tutorial. They were 150% correct- your the best. I appreciate your explanations to include hassle free tips. Thank you very much for sharing your sewing wisdom to include what to avoid. I’ve written your tips under the category ‘zippers’ in my sewing journal. Yana in Alaska
Thanks so much for the wonderful comments.
Thank you ! That is so easy.... I think we all have had 'fear of zippers syndrome' somewhere in our sewing lifetime. 👍👍😁❤️️😘
Very comprehensive tutorial. I have some of your zips by the yard and was hesitant to use them til now! Thanks for a great video!
I have just found this. I have been afraid of zippers, but you helped me to learn how to not be afraid. I have wanted to make a large travel bag for a long time. Now maybe I can. Thank you 😊 💓
You can do it!
Thank you Annie!! I'm super excited to start practicing 😊🧵🌟
Thank you so much for taking the fear out of attaching zipper pulls ! I've always struggled - well, not anymore!!

Thank you Annie, very clear, easy to follow instructions.
WOW!! What a wonderful tutorial. I’ve purchased zippers by the yard but have not used it yet. Yes, I was a little intimidated, but now I think I can jump right in. Thanks so much Annie!!
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Just what I needed to know and so well demonstrated and presented. Thank you for your time and patience, you've made this so easy for me. :-)

Thank you for sharing this. I had never thought of making my own zippers and you make it look so easy!
Awesome video. And thank you to Casey for that tip. Wish I had known that when I forgot to open the zipper before cutting the excess zipper tape when I was making the ultimate travel bag.
Excellent video!! Thanks!!

Iam sure these tips will help me.
Another great video. I also like the video on how to place a zipper.
Thank you Casey!
Annie was hank you so much for your tutorial! I bought a big kit from another company and I received a metal by the yard zipper and 2 zipper pulls. Your tutorial made it pretty easy to understand thank you! I have several patterns from By Annie but this is my first metal zipper.
Glad we could help!
Thank you for making this so easy. I have always been afraid of adding pulls. You are a great teacher. Have you thought about putting together a small booklet with these instructions? I would be the first to purchase that.
Love this Annie! Need to make my bags!
Thanks. Colour coding your zip samples was v helpful. Enabled me to find right section of video to watch. Purple zip on how to add zip ends to coil of zipping. My project is making new zipped, piped seating pad covers with hand ties for a pair of Art Deco-style dark wood chairs.
Rounded end zipper -> seperate sides and do it like closing a jacket. I actually put the zipper vertically and let muscle memory do it's thing
I've used these zippers before & love them.
Thank you for this video!
Just amazing, thank you so much.
Thank you Annie! This demo saved my day! You taught me how to successfully add a zipper head back to a zipper!❤️
thanks a lot just what I needed good information
That was so helpful. Thanks
This is a great video and very helpful!
Thanks Annie! You're the greatest!
Great video and tutorial, takes the scary Ness out of using zippers... Many thanks
That was so useful the times I struggle with zips. Thank you
Thanks you to teach me....hi from Lima . Peru
Thank you for all the information.I have been a little hesitant to use the zipper tape I hav purchased. I look forward to using your easy to tutorial?
Thanks again.
Karen
Wow, you stopped fighting with the manger.
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I've always been afraid to try zipper tape but your video makes it sound easy to use. A lot of the patterns I use say to use a #5 zipper which is 1 1/4" wide. How wide is the Annie tape?
They are #4.5 and they 1 1/4" wide. Happy Stitching!
@@PatternsByAnnie Thanks.
Very helpful video. Thank you! But, I cringe a bit when you use a rotary cutter without a ruler so close to your fingers. I wonder if beginners doing this might cut themselves.
Thank you but I need to know how to make a zipper for a reversible jacket. Do you have a video for that?
Brilliant tip for kissing zippers!
Thanks.
I always add a little fray check on the ends that I cut also.
@10.15 - Zippers that kiss in the centre
👍🏻
I have the ends even, but the zipper slide won't pull down as shown.
I am having trouble with #3 zipper tape. Once I get the sliders on they move but won't close the zipper!
The zipper teeth and zipper slides have to be the same size. Our zippers are #4.5 so our zipper pulls won't work with a #3 zipper.
Do you need a certain kind for pillow covers? Are they basically the same strength?
Hi Ms Annie Will regular scissors cut through
None of mine have that extra piece on the end! How are you supposed to get the pull on?
Though it's easier to attach the pull if you have the extra fabric at the end, you can certainly attach it to cut tape as well. Scroll to about 15:00 for tips and techniques for doing that.
What about the daytripper ll zipper assembly? I’m very stressed trying to figure out the directions
We have a tutorial for our MiPad Case which uses a very similar zipper assembly as Daytripper II. Find it in our Tutorials section or using this link: www.byannie.com/mipad_case_videos/ Go to the section that applies to the Zipper Assembly.
Do you have a video on the Ultimate Travel bag? I would love to follow along. Thanks for all you do.
There are no videos on this channel, but it does have steps for the various parts of construction that can be tricky: straps, attaching binding, attaching zippers, attaching piping, turning tubes, making pockets, etc. Combine them all, you could easily make the Ultimate Travel Bag very successfully. And I just checked my pattern, there is no link to a hidden video either. Just click on Video Tutorials from byAnnie.com above in bold. Then click on Videos. All the videos (demos to tutorials) will be displayed.
She has a class on the Ultimate Travel bag available on craftsy/blueprint. It’s such a great class! You can go at your own pace and watch steps as many times as you want.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
I hope you gave Casey a bonus. In money or homemade cookies. Lol
Is it possible to make a separating zipper using zipper by the foot?
Hi Lorraine, it is not possible to make a true separating zipper (like the one on a jacket). That is because you need the special hardware that allows you to easily feed the teeth into the slide and the other piece that keeps the slide from falling off the bottom.
That said, it isn't uncommon for people to think they need a separating zipper, when really they just need more than one pull so that the zipper opens both ways. Hope that helps.
No ones showing me how you prevent the zipper from slidding off in the finished product
She says, at minute 2:36, stitch to create zipper stop!
It just slides up and down and doesn't zip.????
Hi Carolyn- it sounds like you might have zipper tape and zipper slides that are not of matching sizes. If you can get some ByAnnie zippers, you'll be sure that all the tape and slides are size 4.5. We only sell one size.

uuuhh...
