    The word Abigail wants is addends, parts of sums. A Mathematics student reads, "Using a sum of the least common integers of series: 2^x, or '1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, . . .', calculate the decimal of binary 0011001.
    I will remember you for assigning decimal places to binary notation.

    Binary
    00110010
    Now simply changing into Decimal
    Remember if you want to change into decimal so you must keep base 2.
    Decimal
    0+0+2'5+2'4+0+0+2'1+0= 50
    2'5=32
    2'4=16
    2'1=2
    Now adding these all 32+16+2=50
