  • On March 7 2018, Professor Zhong Lin Wang - Reagents’ Professor and Hightower Chair, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta GA, United States - delivered a lecture titled "From Maxwell’s Displacement Current to Nanogenerator Driven Self-Powered Sensors and Systems" as a part of WIN's distinguished lecture series.
    Professor Zhong Lin (ZL) Wang is the Hightower Chair in Materials Science and Engineering and Regents’ Professor at Georgia Tech. He is also a member of the Beijing Institute of Nanotechnology and Nanosystems, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.
    Professor Wang has made original and seminal contributions to the synthesis, discovery, characterization and understanding of fundamental physical properties of oxide nanobelts and nanowires. Their applications are in energy sciences, sensors, electronics and optoelectronics. He is a world leader in ZnO nanostructure research.
    He has received numerous international honors and awards. Recently awards include the American Chemical Society Publication most prolific author and the Global Nanoenergy Prize from the NANOSMAT Society, UK. Professor Wang’s seminal research is in over 50 media publications worldwide including CNN, BBC, New York Times, Washington Post, Discovery Magazine and Scientific America.
    Professor Wang will discuss his research into Nanogenerator driven self-powered sensors and systems.
