I like this theory, as another comment pointed out it explains Henry's line that 'he lured them again', but it does have a couple of problems. Namely: why would William use the Fredbear suit on this occasion when he is established as using the spring bonnie suit? (I know its possible he could use both, but he even has easy access to his seemingly preferred suit.) And where does the freadbear suit go when he takes it off in the backroom? In fnaf 4 we see him helping another coworker into a suit, and this is years later when theyre in a more worn out and dangerous state.) I also love the implication that driving away from the scene of a heinous crime is 'not shady behaviour'.
Purple Guy didn't wear the Bonnie suit for the MCI, he wore the Fredbear suit. The Fruity Maze picture shows it having a bow tie. Spring Bonnie and Springtrap don't have that bow tie in FNAF3 or even FFPS. Not only does this eliminate the perplexing question of why a ghost would lead the animatronics to Purple Guy, it also supports my conjecture that the killer wore the Fredbear suit during the MCI.
My theory is that the follow me minigame takes a few weeks before the fnaf 1game,(because in fnaf 1 you can hear banging on the walls, so we can assume that's william). Shadow freddy is a worker who got springlocked, and wanted revenge from william for a reason i don't know, (maybe because william rigged his suit or something?) so shadow freddy tried to lead the spirits to the saferoom, and after the minigames, a worker rebuilds the animatronics, but just couldn't put the buttons back.
That is interesting. It just makes me question how William was found behind a sealed safe room when they were all said to have been sealed in the ‘80s when the first pizzeria was still open.
@@bonswootch when you go to destroy 5 killer robots you'd probably bring a weapon or two. Maybe he brought an axe. And didn't phone guy say *MOST* safe rooms were sealed? Maybe this one was still used.

Also fnaf 3 imo is pretty simple besides the weird pin code in the wall and stuff. Also if we are using things like the guide, it states that shadow freddy is helping the souls find their killer.

Then who's possessing the animatronics from the original game, because they would have to have been made after Williams death, and if so what spirits are possessing them. Just came to a realization while typing this, the most likely explanation for this would be if someone melted down the metal from the withereds, to use for making the og animatronics. Wait, no, security breach goes against that, they have on display tons of different parts and remnants of older animatronics, so the withereds were likely not melted.
The animatronics aren’t necessarily possessed in Follow Me, right? I mean it’s possible, but what if Follow Me shows William dismantling them before stuffing them, causing them to be possessed?
@@1987nightrap FNAF 1 would be the same kids from Follow Me. FNAF 2, the Toys would either be the victims of the DCI, residual from the withereds’ spirits, or they aren’t possessed at all-the withereds would likely be the Follow Me victims (MCI).
Maybe the tapes aren't alphabetical or date corrected. Which why two tapes are similar (talking about spring locks) and another tape is different. Maybe someone record every month or every incident. For example they recorded in February then recorded continues in June. Which means tapes March - May were never recorded or could be lost through time. Considering the place was abandoned and they randomly found a box of tapes. Anything could have happened.
Yknow i nevwr thought about it much but phone guy says "in all freddys locations" when talking about the safe rooms. There are multiple locations open at the same time, i never really hear anyone mentuon that tbh
You have a point. That does seem to imply that there were more than just one Fredbear and Freddy restaurant open at the time. I’m not sure where this information will come in handy, but I’ll certainly keep it in mind next time it comes up :)
Maybe because as Fredbear he was acting criminally, where as he was just hiding as Spring Bonnie? It could also be because the Fredbear part of the story isn’t as important as knowing that William d*ed in Spring Bonnie, so Scott left him purple to create mystery. That is a good question :)
The “what’s seen in the shadows can be mistaken in the eyes of a child” line from Scott could be why shadow Freddy pops up later. After taking the kids physical bodies, they transferred into new ones. The animatronics. But then William took that too. My guess, since he did it in that suit, that’s why they took that as the thing that stole their life once more. I can’t say wether or not him being purple in game actually means anything beyond trying to connect the two together given not everything in game is real. Look at FNAF 3, with the wall tiles. Look at all the mini games. I believe it’s only like that for story purposes.
Bro I like the thought that shadow freddy (or crumpled Freddy suit will be more correct) is just a very old golden Freddy who just lost all colors (I'm of course about the fnaf 3 easter egg, in the minigames he's purple cause of purple guy doing purple things). Like designwise I liked crumpled Freddy suit more cause he don't have mystical glowing parts, and the idea of Suit being just... suit used by purple guy always was part of my headcannon for a long time
I’m glad you agree :) I’ve been sort of reworking this theory since the video came out… now I believe that Follow Me probably did take place some time after FNAF 2 but it’s still strange that the sprites resemble animatronics that wouldn’t exist after 1987.
@@bonswootch I saw a theory that follow me takes place in between fnaf 2 and fnaf 1, I forgot from who tho. They said that maybe the first animatronics that worked in that pizzeria since the one from fnaf 2 shut down were just patched up withereds, but after consequences in follow me, fazbear entertainment had to fully repair them, and cause of small budget they are like that(maybe they even used older blueprints, I don't remember)
@@CreeperokGames That makes sense, for all we know the Follow Me animatronics could be low resolution withered animatronics. As for the low budget of FNAF 1’s pizzeria: the ending newspaper in FNAF 2 tells us that they plan to have a significantly smaller budget if they ever reopen, so that was always in the plan. I think this theory makes a lot of sense :)
@@bonswootch Yeah, like the one about that purple guy already used W. G. Freddy suit to kill children in fnaf 2 location, cause springbonnie was sealed in the saferoom at the time. Bruh now I wanna see how it would look like if William's died in the crumpled Freddy suit.
Good question. Maybe William moved it someone so he could stuff the fifth kid into it or it’s behind the arcade machines. That is a big unanswered question but I’m thinking for the sake of mystery, if this theory is right, Scott left it out just to keep us guessing :)
Id's fantasy came up with the exam same idea too and i agree well the idea that they are the withereds not the classics i agree completely it makes sense looking at the design i heard someone say something about the adventure versions having the buttons too but that's not really that good of a comparison since we know that fnaf world isn't in the real world or at least not in a worldly sense i also agree with the pizzaria struggling to stay open but i do think that's after the animatronics turned into the classics or during that phase i also do think they were still possessed at the time i think what happened since the kids were said to have died in the suits and not just die die maybe it was a CC treatment like before they were stuffed in were in a form of a coma or limbo so like he lured the kids fatality injured them and while they were slowly dying in the safe room after a while when he was able to get his hands on the animatronic he stuffed them and then they got killed in the animatronics since we know what happens in fnaf 1 that could also explain why Susie still saw the deaths in fact even tho it makes more sense for him to lure them one by one then kill them he could have also did that but then killed them all is the same room idk there's a lot of holes with that the only other idea i could think of for that is they were back up animatronics and they were just in the safe room rather then susie got stuffed and then she saw what was happening when her soul got attached to chica considering she wouldn't see anything cuz she was shoved in the torso so after she died she possessed chica unknowingly and was just watching through her eyes idk good theory tho
I thought he was just a employee that got spring locked ,and also I honestly thought that it happened AFTER the FNAF two location shut, bc William is spring locked and he can’t be spring locked before the events of FNAF 2 since firstly, he killed the save them kids (who are different from the MCI 85’) before you worked at the FNAF 2 location, so he worked there before you, and also because we know that it’s 2023 in FNAF 3 and that William was there for 30 years, and what’s 2023 - 30? 1993 ,the year of FNAF 1’s events. Also the employee part is because phone guy said that only WORKERS of the franchise could have access to the safe room. Also (I’ve said also like 30 times in this comment omg) the Shadow animatronics are just employees that got spring locked in the Fredbear suits.
If "Follow me" minigames happen in the old restaraunt before the one with toy animatronics, how does William appear in the "Save them" minigame which takes its place in the FNaF 2 location?
That is one of the unanswered questions of this theory. The only reason this theory even holds water is because if Follow Me takes place after FNAF 2, there is still the question of why Phone Guy insinuates that William was sealed in the safe room before the Toy’s were even built.
I mainly see it as happening sometime after fnaf 2 and before fnaf 1 as it was around 1992-1993 where william dismantled the repaired withered, then taking all the selected endos (endo 02) and also along with the old constumes being somewhat damaged/unable to be used and then revamped with the remaining parts left over and refurbished into the fnaf 1 gang, while henry or someone else that reported the thing that happened aka the dismantling of the og characters sealing up the safe rooms. Covering them up as "budget restraint" but this is just my timeline.
cool thory but why isnt the suit back there when the ghost come and why would he hide in the bonnie suit when he had the freddy one. the phone guy tapes theory is great though
That does make a lot of sense. It’s just peculiar to me that a lot of the details in FNAF 3 seem to be pointing towards Follow Me happening around the time of the Phone Guy cassettes being recorded.
@@Lumberjack_king Yeah, not everything adds up in this theory but it was my best attempt at explaining the question that’s tempted me for so long-why do the FNAF 3 cassettes seem to imply Follow Me occurred during the same time as them?
Man, in my opinion, if William Afton used the Golden Freddy/Shadow Freddy costume to attract the animatronics in the safe room, he would use that same costume to escape from the children, and even he doesn't decide whether to use the Springbonnie costume to attract the animatronics to the room. Make sure if the opposite happens he moves a step bro he dies inside the springlook suit and in my opinion it doesn't make much sense for William Afton to be Shadow Freddy attracting the animatronics it makes more sense for Shadow Freddy to guide the animatronics to the safe room where William Afton was. This is all my opinion, I respect your opinion and your theories, but everything I said is everything I think about it, don't take it wrong in your heart, but it's a good opinion and your theory. I'm Brazilian and I'm a fan of fnaf he said👍😎
Thank you! You make some good points. I was trying to say that Cassidy was the fifth spirit, and that William was in the possess of stuffing him into the Fredbear suit he used in Follow Me (Shadow Freddy) when he was attacked by the fifth spirit. Since he was stuffing Fredbear, the only remaining suit would be Spring Bonnie. That’s just my theory and I understand where you’re coming from too :)
Willam died in a springbonnie suit and he was locked in a safe room in 30 years 2023-1993=30 so it takes place in 1993 mabye people didt go to the safe room for some reasons and maybe the safe room are sealed when follow me was happening and willam break the safe room. Shadow freddy was made out of agony i think it wasn't a suit
It could still be 2015 as it never specifies which Freddy's, other than it being somewhat successful and somewhere people fondly remember. Seeing as Fnaf 2 was open for like a week and a half and Fnaf 1 was a failure (hence the place having to shut down), the newspaper might be referring to the original Freddy's, which closed after the MCI happened in 1985. 30 years after 1985 is 2015 so the theory still stands, albeit for different reasons
@skywar12 While that is unfortunately true, there is one other piece of evidence that implies that the Follow Me minigames take place before Fnaf 1, being that Phone Guy is still alive when the Safe Room is sealed up Since we know he dies by Night 4 of the first game, it has to take place sometime before then
@skywar12 At the very least we have a span of a few years it could've happened (Anytime between 2015-2022 due to it being 30 years after a Freddy's closed)
I dont believe to much follow me pre 93 (i would believe if is fnaf vhs xd ) and the fnaf 3 recordings i think is from 1985, when phone guy talks about springbonnie costume being "moved", of someone moved that costume to lure 5 children into the safe ro, and the safe room was sealed in 85, to be unsealed in 95 with willian, fazbear frights employees thinks that the plant from the building with the safe room already sealed, but in reality is opened
Just a precaution: always take what Phone Guy (and any other main narrator of exposition) says with a healthy dose of skepticism.
Fair enough. I feel like that’s where most of the lore comes from but you have a point that he might not be 100% reliable.

@@bonswootchI confused where he said this, I thought it was in the phone call about Fredbears, it’s talking about Freddys
@@gucciganglilaku :)
This is literally the best theory I’ve heard in years. Get this on matpat’s desk right away.
xD Thank you so much! It’s so nice to hear the positive reception! :)
@@bonswootchwell, willian was the owner, so i think he has the key to unseal the safe rooms, who knows xd
@@Wizardjones69 But Phone Guys says they were sealing them up.
@@bonswootch he say that the safe rooms where sealed in *most* of the locations
There were multiple springlock failures and there is no way William was springlocked during the unamed location considering he appears in the fnaf 2 minigame where withered freddy is following the puppet. Also fnaf 3 imo is pretty simple besides the weird pin code in the wall and stuff. Also if we are using things like the guide, it states that shadow freddy is helping the souls find their killer.
Also it seems some designs are retconned like fredbear in ucn looks nothing like fredbear in fnaf 4 minigames
I wonder could the spirits of the dead children kill William even if he didnt get in the suit.

I believed your shadow freddy luring theory like i used to when the game came out long ago but the issue is how does the suit disappear then once the minigames show us the safe room where the suits are? Why Afton couldnt just get his golden freddy suit up again somehow instead of the spring bonnie
I guess he hid it somewhere
@@Some_random_Stickman ...where??? In this empty room?
@@ilikepigeons6101 no he probably he hid it in his car or something

This makes me wish we got a game of the unwithered location
It’s just Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. We hear about it in FNAF 3.
Next year.
@@bonswootch no I meant the animatronics from FNAF 1 and 2
@@1987nightrap FNAF 1 would be the same kids from Follow Me.
Yippee bonswootch video!
:D
Why would the old Fred bear suit (shadow Freddy) be purple when the springbonnie suit stayed yellow in the follow me mini games ?
Maybe because as Fredbear he was acting criminally, where as he was just hiding as Spring Bonnie? It could also be because the Fredbear part of the story isn’t as important as knowing that William d*ed in Spring Bonnie, so Scott left him purple to create mystery. That is a good question :)
This video needs so much more attention
Thank you! I’m hope you enjoyed it :)
They probably gave the animatronics buttons in the follow me game like how they did it with the adventure fnaf 1 animatronics, just my guess
Nice Theory but where is the Goldie Suit in the Spirits Springlock scene
Good question. Maybe William moved it someone so he could stuff the fifth kid into it or it’s behind the arcade machines. That is a big unanswered question but I’m thinking for the sake of mystery, if this theory is right, Scott left it out just to keep us guessing :)
@@bonswootch fair Point. U deserve a subscription
another great video with another great theory! i really like this theory and is a really good explanation. keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it :)
Yeah a lot about this theory makes a lot of sense. I’m glad you agree :)
Great theory (as always)
Thank you! :)
Thank you! There’s still some practical questions like that to answer for sure. Maybe we can answer that in a future video :)
how william died before fnaf 2 if there was another 5 children dead at the reopening in the fnaf 2 place
9:28 this is the part i disagree on i think they were already possessed at the time the spirits leaving their vessels to take revenge on William
That does make a lot of sense. It’s just peculiar to me that a lot of the details in FNAF 3 seem to be pointing towards Follow Me happening around the time of the Phone Guy cassettes being recorded.
@@bonswootch I mean it’s definitely possible but I don’t think they were stuffed then but It would be a great place to do it
@@Lumberjack_king Yeah, not everything adds up in this theory but it was my best attempt at explaining the question that’s tempted me for so long-why do the FNAF 3 cassettes seem to imply Follow Me occurred during the same time as them?
That’s just my theory and I understand where you’re coming from too :)
thank you, we're together
@@isacgoncalvesgarcia1093 :)
@@bonswootch why would he stuff cassidy in the fredbear suit instead of the springbonnie suit?
Willam died in a springbonnie suit and he was locked in a safe room in 30 years 2023-1993=30 so it takes place in 1993 mabye people didt go to the safe room for some reasons and maybe the safe room are sealed when follow me was happening and willam break the safe room. Shadow freddy was made out of agony i think it wasn't a suit
Edit: it's just my own theory
I like the theory, but I don't believe in it
That’s fine. It doesn’t answer every question but I think it explains some of the big mystery surrounding FNAF 3.
It might be because I've seen so many videos, with so many slight variations... but, I'm missing what exactly you solved?

Amazing video, this explains so much.
Does this mean FNAF 3 could take place during 2015, the year the game released?
@@ItzWuLFe but having William die in the 80s pushes things back a bit, he was only in the walls for 30 years.
@@skywar12 alright
It could still be 2015 as it never specifies which Freddy's, other than it being somewhat successful and somewhere people fondly remember.
Seeing as Fnaf 2 was open for like a week and a half and Fnaf 1 was a failure (hence the place having to shut down), the newspaper might be referring to the original Freddy's, which closed after the MCI happened in 1985.
30 years after 1985 is 2015 so the theory still stands, albeit for different reasons
@skywar12 While that is unfortunately true, there is one other piece of evidence that implies that the Follow Me minigames take place before Fnaf 1, being that Phone Guy is still alive when the Safe Room is sealed up
Since we know he dies by Night 4 of the first game, it has to take place sometime before then
@skywar12 At the very least we have a span of a few years it could've happened (Anytime between 2015-2022 due to it being 30 years after a Freddy's closed)
