Bristol Zoo, April 2019

With a spare afternoon I decided to visit Bristol Zoo, located in the Clifton area of Bristol the Bristol Zoological Gardens opened in 1836, and is the world's oldest provincial zoo and is home to over 7000 individual animals from over 400 different species. In this video we take a look around the zoo, starting and the lions, before venturing into the dark 'Twilight World', the first of it's kind when it opened, the Reptile house and diving beneath the waves. Moving round the site we pay a visit to the Monkey Jungle, Seal & Penguin Coasts and the Gorilla Island. All set within beautifully themed enclosures.

There’s a lot of memories associated with this place. It’s been open since 1836 and will be so sad to lose it. Hopefully you’ll be able to make it for one last visit before it closes though!

@@benembling4027 We really hope so! My family have been going to the zoo ever since it first opened and my grandad used to work there. The zoo has a lot of warm memories for everyone in my family so getting to visit one last time before it's closure would be very nice.

@@demonchild5374 It's not closing until 2024 at the earliest. But at the end of the day it's a very small site with limited parking and not enough room for the animals who need it. The new site will be a fantastic chance to improve it for the future.

They're closing down in September so they're not doing animal experiences anymore
