Damn, they are developing another Sonos Arc with 11.2.4 and another form of Sonos was with 8 speakers and another Sonos sub gen larger like 12X8, it would be great but in reality I have the complete set of the Sonos Arc Ultra with 2X Sonos Era 300 and the Sonos Sub Gen 4, the truth is that it is a system that is too powerful, it would need about 2,500 watts of power. I say this because I love how noisy it is. and that it has clear voices, don't rush to buy the set one at a time. I had this question last November. After at least 10 years of use, my old Sony 5.1 system was retired (still working but lack of Bluetooth connectivity and Dolby ATMOS made me to take this decision). But after all the reviews from RUclips and Google, there still was no answer. In the end, I chose Sony Theater Bar 9 not Sonos Arc Ultra. In first of all for connectivity, I have a PS5, and the lack of 2 HDMI ports from Sonos was important for me. Another important reason is that Sony supports DTS:X and Sonos not. And the last one was the price, I'm from Romania and here Sonos is not very popular and the price is in general very high. Indeed without any discounts, both soundbars are around 1000-1200-1500 USD but I found some discounts and I paid for Sony around 600 USD. Regarding the bass more or less is present. depends on the volume for regular use in movies games music I don't feel like is necessary a subwoofer instead when I cross 70-75% of the volume....... I think I will buy one. As a stand-alone sound bar, I think the surround is quite impressive ( the big difference is made by the content that you watch on PS5 is wow but on a regular film from Netflix not that great) here I have a mention, I didn't hear a Sonos arc ultra in a similar environment / in my living-room.
To be fair. To get anything near decent surround sound you need the separate satellite speakers. None of these sound bars get anywhere close. I havemthe arc ultra.and it wasnt anything otger than a sound magnification until i added the 2x era 300s. But 100s will be awesome too....
I have Sonos Arc + Era 300 surrounds + Sub Gen 3 -> is it worth upgrading to Arc Ultra? Other than better dialogue, what will I get? I care mainly about Atmos when watching movies and playing PS5
I did the Arc to Arc Ultra upgrade with dual Gen 3 subs and Fives with LG OLED 77C1. I didn't have an issue with dialogue; but, noticed improve clarity and volume with 4 settings to pick from. The Arc Ultra sounds louder at the same volume levels as the v1 Arc. The v1 Arc seemed to blend into the background in 5.1/Atmos duties. You know the Arc Ultra is there now and I like how it sounds (main sofa about 18 feet from TV/soundbar). I didn't notice the extra bass from the Arc Ultra having dual subs on either side of soundbar and Fives as surrounds. I moved the v1 Arc in Master bedroom to replace Beam Gen 1 (with Gen 3 sub and Symfonisk rears on LG OLED 65C4).
They both share a lot of commonalities, but the biggest differences you get with the Arc Ultra is more balanced frequency response, more immersive Dolby Atmos and surrounds performance, and the addition of Bluetooth. A very informative and balanced review Justin. Many thanks. I currently have the former Arc. Does the Arc Ultra have clearer dialogue? I found the Sonos Arc handles stereo music better than the Sony Theatre 8 soundbar does.
You can take out the word SONOS and substitute MicroSoft, Apple, Intel, Adobe, LG, Sony, Samsung, etc... I need to upgrade my laptop because it isn't rated for Win11 and I had to upgrade my iPhone 6S+ because of 3G network going away. First world problems!
@ I like the option of purchasing four IKEA rear speakers for my two Beams at a much cheaper price than a combo of One SLs or Era 100. They sound perfect for my audio needs.

There is no Google assistant support and that really sucks but great review regardless
if it comes to stand alone there is nothing better then sennheiser, so there a quesations to your testing

I had virtually the same setup and upgraded to Sonos Arc Ultra+Sub 4. I moved the Arc+sub3 into my bedroom and am very pleased

Will never buy another SONOS. They do everything they can to lock you to their ecosystem, even to the point of crippling functionality.
