Jasmine (taxonomic name Jasminum /ˈjæsmɪnəm/)[5] is a genus of shrubs and vines in the olive family (Oleaceae). It contains around 200 species native to tropical and warm temperate regions of Eurasia, Australasia and Oceania. Jasmines are widely cultivated for the characteristic fragrance of their flowers. A number of unrelated plants contain the word "Jasmine" in their common names (see Other plants called "Jasmine").
Jasmine can be either deciduous (leaves falling in autumn) or evergreen (green all year round), and can be erect, spreading, or climbing shrubs and vines. Their leaves are born, opposite or alternate. They can be simple, trifoliate, or pinnate. The flowers are typically around 2.5 cm (0.98 in) in diameter. They are white or yellow in color, although in rare instances they can be slightly reddish. The flowers are borne in cymose clusters with a minimum of three flowers, though they can also be solitary on the ends of branchlets. Each flower has about four to nine petals, two locules, and one to four ovules. They have two stamens with very short filaments. The bracts are linear or ovate. The calyx is bell-shaped. They are usually very fragrant. The fruits of jasmines are berries that turn black when ripe.
The basic chromosome number of the genus is 13, and most species are diploid (2n=26). However, natural polyploidy exists, particularly in Jasminum sambac (2n=39), Jasminum flexile (2n=52), Jasminum mesnyi (2n=39), and Jasminum angustifolium (2n=52) you can check en.wikipedia.o... for more.
Jasminum sambac (Arabian jasmine) is a species of jasmine native to a small region in the eastern Himalayas in Bhutan and neighbouring India and Pakistan. It is cultivated in many places, especially across much of South and Southeast Asia. It is naturalised in many scattered locales: Mauritius, Madagascar, the Maldives, Cambodia, Indonesia, Christmas Island, Chiapas, Central America, southern Florida, the Bahamas, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and the Lesser Antilles.
Jasminum sambac is a small shrub or vine growing up to 0.5 to 3 m (1.6 to 9.8 ft) in height. It is widely cultivated for its attractive and sweetly fragrant flowers. The flowers may be used as a fragrant ingredient in perfumes and jasmine tea. It is known as the Arabian jasmine in English. It is the national flower of the Philippines, where it is known as sampaguita, as well as being one of the three national flowers of Indonesia, where it is known as melati putih.

    Ayan
Very good information on jasmine bonsai style root air pruning.
I tries tomato plants and used IBA spray, followed by Gibberlic acid spray and then used micronutrients spray all at 15 days interval. These were placed in DIY air pruning 20 litre water bottles.
I also used same technique on marigold the results are amazing, each plant has an average of 23 flowers
Tomatoes produced almost double yield and size and color was better
Carried experiments with one plant receiving no treatment and other full treatment
I am going to extend my experience to jasmine just bought a plant today with your method
Will inform results after 45 days

Have you tried root air pruning of rose plants
Am tempted to try one of my rose using your method on jasmine and after about 2 months transfer to regular pots
Am sure with fibrous root development it will bloom profusely with my organic system
I usually use consortium of soil bacteria to wet potted plants to enhance soil fertility
After transplant I use Epsom salt 1 tea spoon in 1 litre and soak the soil to avoid transplant stress
After 1 week use home made humic fluvic and gibberlic acid solutions on soil media to promote root development uptake of nutrients by chelation action and increase in node length. Including branching
Every 10 days give oil cake liquid manure
After 1 week give handful of vermicompist
After week home made micronutrients foliage spray made using WDC solution
Monthly once home made amino acid spray made from soybeans
      Every week WDC solution sprays
Will post results after 2 months

Its amazing to c the developed roots in jst 45 days from a cutting... i usually bury the lengthy stem from the plant into the soil and after a month will detach from the motger plant... it works too....

Hi, I tried cinnamon& crushed eggshell to get rid of white bugs in my jasmine plant potting soil.It didn't help. Also, the leaves are breaking at their attachment points to the stems and falling( I see white bugs behind them too), stems are browning and dying. What can I do, Please help. I cut all the dead parts and kept the pot outdoor and I see new leaves coming but still little older leaves/stems are dying. How to get rid of the bugs and save my plant?
