Sylvester James, Jr. better known as Sylvester, was an American disco and soul singer-songwriter. Known for his flamboyant and androgynous appearance, he was often described as a drag queen, although he repeatedly rejected such a description. Responsible for a string of hit singles in the late 1970s, Sylvester became known in the United States under the moniker of the "Queen of Disco." Видеоклипы
This was one of the most underrated of Sylvester's songs. This is a great mix
Truly underrated song 🎵 he was and still is an icon.
I think people just don't realize in today's environment that Sylvester was one of the artists from the 1970s who produced albums that contained more than just one single that was likeable. Indeed, many of his best song never got the attention that mega hits Dance (Disco Heat) or (You Make Me Feel) Mighty Real got because of all the disco play. In today's world where EVERY singer and song no matter the genre tends to sound like clones, Sylvester did not sound the same even on the same album. Enjoy the adventure of listening to this song, and then go back to 1978 and pick ANY song from ANY genre to see just how different music can be. Country music had a certain style, but each artist had a different sounding voice--for example, Tanya Tucker (even when she released her first number 1 country album at age 14) was able to instill into her songs--even cover songs---she fills with emotion. Today's music is just cookie-cutter cut outs--just as Orwell predicted they would be in his 1984.
The true Queen Of Disco
Truth Be Told.
I used to teach aerobics in the 80's and this was a favourite along with Do you Wanna Funk and You make me Feel - those were great times.
Released 1984. Still works, dontcha think? damn

When he sings, you can hear the Gospel Sound !
One thing I can say I remember this song and he knew how to do it..rip in peace Sylvester and thank you..
So sad he's no longer here to take us to heaven, but he left us some amazing songs - this is my personal favorite. Wherever he is, it must be a party every night !
ryan777 He took so many, but couldn't find his way back. Heaven's only problem: not for the living.😢

~ 1984-1985! AIDS/HIV and Reagan didn't ruin our spirit, neither will 45. R.I.P. our icon, Sylvester. Tom Of Finland should have at least been nominated for the best foreign film. Tragic it was not: a classic story, history, hero, music, movie. Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
45? The guy who made decriminalization of homosexuality around the world official US diplomatic policy? You voted for the guy who helped George W Bush start the Iraq war and helped Obama destroy Libya and Syria, and kill a million brown people and bankrupt the USA in the process?
Tell it like it is! 💙
