It's not odd in the context of "I expected X, and that didn't happen." It was a projection of anything other than my singular expectation of what would happen ON THAT DAY. And doesn't undermine "success." Success defines itself. Those two thoughts are separate and should be weighed as such. It's not even difficult nuance to parse. It's more confusing how you (and others) are choosing to make the minor point the major conclusion when the vast majority of what was said about the day was positive and this "anticlimactic" statement wasn't even negative. Why is that?
