- Here are the two languages I think you should learn first in genomics Bioinformatics. As I say in the video, you will likely learn plenty more languages tailored to whatever job you are doing but Bash and Python are good places to start.

Started learning python last week through the Python for Biologists book by Dr Martin Jones. I'm halfway through the book and it's been a blast (no pun intended) so far, it's fun and the feeling when you solve something is so rewarding, makes me get angry with myself because I haven't started this earlier (now 25 and have a BCS in applied biology). The reason why is probably because I have always been kinda afraid that I'll fail - because i didn't like maths in high school (biologist stereotypes lol). Can't wait to finish this book and give his other book a shot (Advanced Python for Biologists). All in preparation for my Bioinformatics masters studies later this fall. Your channel is an immense help, thank you.
man, you are just like me. i have a BCs in Agriculture tech and have always had an interest in anything Data. now 25 and so pumped about Bioinfomatics. and yeh i don't like maths as well but nothing is stoping me anyway.
Thank you man . Your videos are so much helpful. I just finished the course "Bioinformatics for Biologists" according to your suggestion and it was awesome . Now I will maybe start learning python.
Thank you for the valuable information!
Great vid man! I did a Masters in Bioninformatics and I’d say 90% of what I did was in bash and supplemented with some Python. R also has some great packages for statistical analysis and data viz
what is you research field. human health or crop science
really love your content man.
Good day, Base call. Do I have to learn everything about python or there are certain aspects that I have to learn for bioinformatics?
@Base Call Thank you so much sir and I hope in future videos from your channel about bioinformatics will be more useful in my life.
As I decided to become a bioinformatics analyst related to genomes so what programming language and free courses from online should I take for a bioinformatics analyst career.
Start with the ones I discuss in the video.
Learning to program is the hardest step.
Once you know one language, you can learn many others easier. It doesn't matter too much which one you start with.
Go with Python because it's easiest. I have some resources for Python in the video and description
@@BaseCalling Thank you so much sir for guiding me. Have a good weekend.
Thank you
Heya are you doing Bsc in Bioinfo or Btech?
@@Im_Blue In which course you enrolled yourself?
@Pooja
Please guide me
Which college /university and which course you enrolled yourself ?
@@SumitVerma-zt1vk rn none im preparing for neet
@Base Call Do we have to learn python, R, Linux, and bash to enroll in the future learning for bioinformatics or we can start this course without having any knowledge about python, R, bash, and linux
Hi
You don’t need any knowledge of Python, Bash, Linux or R to take the course. The course will teach you starting with “What is Linux” and go from there. There’s an introduction to R in Week 3 too but nothing much about Python in this FutureLearn course. Take a look at the other resources in the video for learning Python!
Hey can you please tell from which university did you do your Masters?
what about Julia?
Sir If we email them for enrolling in the course future learn for bioinformatics
Within how many days they email you for the course to enroll me.
Hello! I’m not sure to be honest - i don’t think it’s too many days to wait
