I bought this thing when it was first available. Stoked to keep exploring it as a musician. I use it now for professional video productions. This sounds surprisingly smooth in the mids! (Helps the vocalist is incredible)
I came here to figure out my X8 and completely forgot why i was here as I was so mesmerised by the beautiful ladies voice. Gorgeous! ❤
Same, but was also hoping to gain some knowledge. I also learned i have alot to improve on with my guitar and singing skills….lol

Hello! The Music App on the Portacapture X8 was used to record this. The built-in reverb processor was used and this was not mixed in post.
this is wonderful ,one of best sound recorder i have heard. is tascam x8 have timecode freerun so i can play together with my sigma fp timecode freerun manually
@@yodhamheaven With the optional AK-BT1 Bluetooth dongle it's possible to sync wireless timecode with ATOMOS AtomX Sync & UltraSync BLUE supported devices.
Can this be used like a multi track recorder? Can additional tracks be laid onto the initial recording or will I still need a DAW for that?
Hello! Yes, the Portacapture X8 (and X6) are full-fledged multitrack recorders. In the MANUAL APP there's an overdub feature which allows users to layer instrumentation.
thanks, Another question. The manual doesn't seem to address this. Can tracks 1-6 be bounced to track 7-8 after recording? or are 7-8 mixdown tracks only used on mixing from inputs? @@TASCAMUSA One suggestion too. Maybe make a tutorial on how this unit might be uses as a multi track with each instrument added separately and then bounced within the x8.

My name is johnny, I'm Brazilian and I love TASCAM.
I currently have the MODEL 12, DR40 X and am testing the portacaputre X8 recorder.
I need help, because I like to record content directly on my iphone and both the model12 and the DR40X, I can record videos directly on my iphone using these devices as an interface.
therefore, I can capture performances with the audio ready.
on the portacapture X8, I can make 2 channels via usb, but only using the audios from my iphone and entering the recorder (iphone being the sound generator), but in reality, I wanted the opposite. I wanted to plug in my synthesizers and receive them on my iphone to post videos.
can you help me?

How does this compare to Zoom products? Anyone out there have both?
No way this was recorded with just the on board mics; I don't believe it. Guitar and voice were mic;d up and mixed.
It's all right there in the video. This is a prime example of a professional engineer and professional musician coming together to create an amazing recording.
@@TASCAMUSA i understand his reactin it's really hard to belive, can you tell us more ? i guess the placement is the first big important thing , but you must have edit it ? or is it really the live music preset of the recorder ?
@@shishasho33 Hello! The guitar and vocals were recorded in one take with the onboard mics and were not edited. Any compression and EQ you're hearing were tracked directly to the X8 with on-board effects processing. No external hardware, software, or DAW's were used on this recording.

Got excited when i read the title and although the artist is unreal, quite annoyed to have learned absolutely zero about the use of the X8.
