Bat piruk binui! What a waste of a good location. That place needs to be completely bulldozed and redone with modern luxury 20 floor and higher condos like in Ir Yamim in Netanya.

yeah it should be bulldozed, including the hotels. the only city in Israel with beaches and no access to the sea.
it is not allowed to build a 100 meters from the shore line and i really hope they wont built more buildings who will serve on people with $$$.
there are plans to sink the rail lines and open access to the sea but in this world that everything is about wealth and gov/municipality. the citizen's wish doesn't count. maybe it's time for an Israeli spring.

      *****
The new construction in Israel is of fairly good quality. What's unaffordable now, will become affordable later. What's important is to build quality, and not shit that needs to be rebuilt over and over again.
As for the 100m law, I would slap a VERY heavy tax on all properties 100m and less from the water, both on the Mediterranean seashore and the Kinneret. Any fences, barricades, or businesses built in these areas should also be heavily fined until the owners take them down. Make it economically impossible to keep these structures there.
Same kind of thinking needs to be applied to all unwanted structures and populations in Israel ;)

Btw, any signs of work to extend the Hecht promenade to Bat-Galim?
