Sorry but I hate ada x Leon. The mental, emotional and psychological abuse she puts him through, even though she’s well aware he has severe PTSD, depression, anxiety, and a alcohol addiction. Just makes me go :0 She’s aware that most of the people he has either pledged his protection/leadership to or loved are either dead or cut off from him do to his (forced) occupation as a special agent. He’s at his core a people pleaser and protector of others so for him to either lose people on his watch or be forced away from those he loves, it’s basically like he’s being forced to be the opposite of himself as a person (cognitive dissonance which causes the degradation of mental health and self image overtime, can lead to insanity). So he takes every opportunity he can to help those who are still ‘in’ his life even if they are doing things that only benefit them. This helps him relieve himself of the constant cognitive dissonance he experiences even if that person, Ada, is only hurting him. Also in Police Academy they are often taught to shoot first and negotiate second, so in RE2 when he jumped in the sewer with the giant mutated croc, he was more than likely doing that out of habit from his training. Ada more than likely knew he would habitually do these things for her and let him do it anyways because it benefits her. She’s constantly expressing her affection for him to get him to do things for her and then goes and nearly gets him killed every. Single. Time. That is not LOVE they are a reverse Harlequin and Joker except not as fucked and not as popular. Sorry for the rant love, I adored this video and the fact that you didn’t really include Ada as being his ally made me breathe a sigh in relief.
