Another great video pal! Thanks for giving the podcast a mention and glad you took some time for yourself to observe! It’s something we talk about a lot on the show and Adam is exactly right. We tend to concentrate so much on taking that image we forget just how special some moments are and we should pause and take it all in for ourselves ☺️
Thanks very much Mike, my pleasure to mention the podcast it's a fantastic listen. Adam's advice is definitely something that I am going to take on board more often and ensure that I have some quality mindful moments in nature. All the very best mate 👍🏻
The stags are just stunning and great to see them in action. It's somewhere we haven't been, so it will be added to the list. Beautiful photographs again Dan. Im behind on vids as we've been in Scotland for 4 weeks. Hope you enjoyed Scotland. I'm sure you did.
What Adam said is so true, we do sometimes need to take a step back just to take it all in. - Visited Tatton park on the 26th of October, was great to see the deer in the flesh, however what did ruin it a bit was the wardens having to go round because people kept getting far to close... I understand if they come upon you and you just happen to be there, but some people where literally just going right up to them almost. Great shots as always!
Thanks very much I really appreciate it. Some of the behaviour I witnessed this time (predominantly not by photographers but people with mobile phones) was quite frankly disgraceful. I later learned that a woman had been severely injured by a stag the previous week which is why the gate was locked in the morning. All the best mate 👍🏻
Great to see Dan. I live minutes from Bushy Park, and the red deer rut is one of the highlights of the year. Been an odd one this year - very mild weather and far too many people with phones disturbing the deer. I am surprised no-one has got hurt or worse. Has meant limited opportunity to capture the rut in good light. Anyway there is always next year!
Thanks very much Stephen, I have visited Richmond but not Bushy park in the past. It's definitely a destination that I will visit in the future so thanks for suggesting it. I totally agree with you about being an odd year and not to mention some even more odd behaviour from people getting too close! All the best mate 👍🏻
Great video as usual Dan, been lucky this year to catch both the rut in the Highlands and back home on Exmoor, the bolve is the sound of the moor, truly spectacular to here and see
A very enjoyable video again Dan! I usually get to Richmond Park or Bushy Park in London each year for Red and Fallow Deer but I sometimes see the Red Deer on the Suffolk coast near RSPB Minsmere. But, you definitely can’t beat watching and photographing Red Deer in the Scottish Highlands! I hope you all enjoy your next trip to Scotland. Looking forward to another series of videos! By the way, excellent advice from Adam although I have heard it before …. sometimes just enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and put the camera down.
Thanks very much Richard, I have visited Richmond but not Bushy park in the past. It's definitely a destination that I will visit in the future so thanks for suggesting it. All the best mate 👍🏻
Great video! The bellowing is amazing to hear, I have only done mull charters once but I did put the camera down on the last fly by so I could see it as it’s definitely a different feeling seeing it with your eyes not a viewfinder, amazing experience. Great video as always! 😊
Best shot for me The Chase, lovely to see and hear. Really good advice about putting the camera down and just taking in the sights, occasionally I’ll go out without the camera, it takes a lot of pressure off.
Great video Dan and brings back memories of my many visits to Tatton to photograph the stags when we lived in Cheshire, unfortunately never managed to get them rutting. Will defo check out the earphones. Looking forward to the the Scottish videos and wondering if you are going to the same badger hide as we did. Safe trip. Ian 👍
Thanks very much Ian, really appreciate it mate. The Badger hide was Speyside Wildlife, not sure if that's the one you visited? Video coming of it very soon. All the best 👍🏻
@ think it might have been but I’ll just wait to see the video. Hope you don’t mind me asking but, that monopod you had on the video, it looked like quite a tall one. You’re a pretty tall bloke but I’m 6ft 6 so an extra tall one would come in handy. Where did you get it from? Loved the WildX podcast by the way. Thanks Ian 👍
Morning Dan, bought a pair of the Lytmi ear buds last night and they arrived this morning, I have AirPods which I find uncomfortable after a while and an expensive pair of Bose headphones which are awesome but do make your ears a bit sweaty after a while but these are fantastic, sound quality and volume spot on and as you said after a while you forget you’re wearing them so thanks a lot for bringing them to our attention and the discount 👍 Terry
I am really pleased that you found the ear buds as good as I did. It's always good to hear that feedback after I have recommended a product. All the very best mate 👍🏻
I feel your pain about the airplane noise. Come to Bradgate Park next year, Newton Linford car park is open early during the rut, plus there's no height restriction for your campervan.
The deer are magnificent. We have them roaming wild on Exmoor. Every other year I always try and capture some images, I’m on hold this year. Nice to see you using the SpeediGimbal. I always use mine when I’m walking around.
Great video yet again Dan, we have been a couple of times in October this year, the reason the gates have been closed is due to the fact a lady got injured by one of the deer a few weeks ago, in fact at one point they weren't opening the gates until 9am, which is a first and for safety reasons. Anyway, we had some great times in the park, actually the best visit we had this year was one evening, the Red Deer were very active.
@ you should check out a guy call Rupert Smith photography, he does guided trips for red deer rut, he knows the best places to get the best chance of seeing the deer. Amazing photographer too.
Went a few weeks ago. Arrived at the entrance (not Knutsford) to be told access to vehicles was later than advertised go to Knutsford , park up and walk in for free. The same lady 1/2 an hour later was no doubt taking admissions. No a great business model.
Love it pal and thanks for shouting the podcast out. I’m also really glad that you managed to take some time away from the camera to ‘watch’ 👌🏻
My pleasure mate, it was some great advice that you shared with me.
All the very best mate 👍🏻

As always thanks for the support 👍🏻

So wonderful, Dan! We love to go to Cherokee to see the elk. They are similar to the Red Deer in the way they rut. Thanks for sharing your trip!
Thanks Jon, I would love to see the Elk rutting I bet that's and awesome sight.

Great video as usual Dan, been lucky this year to catch both the rut in the Highlands and back home on Exmoor, the bolve is the sound of the moor, truly spectacular to here and see
Thanks Andy, unfortunately I wasn't successful in the Highlands so it will remain on my bucket list.

All the best 😊

Thanks very much Sue, I really appreciate it. Great advice to go out without the camera, I will definitely give that a go.

Yet another fantastic vlog the sounds from the stags are just spectacular
Thanks very much John, I really appreciate it.

Tatton Park, brilliant, I used to live just a few miles away close to Altrincham. Takes me right back. Thank you.
Thanks very much John, I really appreciate it.

Was there a few weeks ago those big boys are surely the greatest of all wildlife found in the UK. Just amazing to see
It certainly is a must see isn't it? I try to visit at least once every year 👍🏻

Good to see you using the speedigimbel, it's brilliant, no need for a tripod anymore, unless your after really slow shutter speeds.
It's an absolutely incredible piece of kit, I wouldn't be without it.
All the best 👍🏻
Great fotie as usual Dan. I'm looking forward to seeing pops in next week's video. 😀
Thanks very much Andrew, I really appreciate it.

Brilliant video as usual dan, thank you. Looks like i picked a bad week to release a deer video.😂😂😂
Thanks very much Alex, I really appreciate it. I think there was quite a few of us that had the same idea 😂
All the best mate 👍🏻
Try Bradgate park in Leicestershire next year, the carpark gates open at 6.30 with the pedestrian gates open 24/7
Better yet go to a Zoo 😂
Cheers Gordon, I will definitely give that a go thank you 👍🏻

Thanks very much Chris, I really appreciate it. Thanks for the information on the the gate closure, makes perfect sense.

117 minutes to go, it's like waiting for the pub to open 😂😅
😂😂😂😂 That made me giggle 👍
Now that was well worth the wait, always a pleasure to watch your videos, makes my week,
Thanks Vic 🦌🦌🦌🦌
Cheers mate 👍🏻
The deer are magnificent. We have them roaming wild on Exmoor. Every other year I always try and capture some images, I’m on hold this year.
I would definitely like to see them on Exmoor, I can imagine that it provides a stunning backdrop to photograph them in 👍🏻

That makes no sense at all does it. Hope you got some great shots 👍🏻
Sorry, I would question Largest Land Animals. You know they are released wild Bison in the UK (Kent).
I didn't know about this, thank you for drawing my attention to it.
