Join Daniel J. Cox as he shares his Photo Tips From The Field on how to get quality photos of polar bears from a Tundra Buggy. Dan's been working with polar bears for nearly 30 years, much of that time as an advisory board member for Polar Bears International. He first went to Churchill to capture polar bear images from a Tundra Buggy in 1989 and worked as the resident photographer for Tundra Buggy Adventures from 2000-2013. Wow, Dean, that's awfully kind of you. Thanks for the nice comment. Especially for such a specific topic. Not many people go to Churchill for polar bears but we have a large group joining me and my wife this fall. My wife Tanya felt a video would be helpful for our NE Explorers which inspired me to produce this video. I decided to share with others as well.

Hi Dan, That's very good and important information on the HISTOGRAM, as well as "exposure compensation". I woud appreciate it, when we get in the Tunda Buggies, if you would once more demonstrate how to walk properly inside the buggies so not to disturb people/photographers taking photos. I think we may call it, the "djc - slide", OK? 👍

I’m 1 week away from escaping Duluth for the southwest where I’m unlikely to encounter a polar bear unless it’s in a Cirque du Soleil show, Still, it’s always a delight to watch your channel for all you bring to the art of photography! There are few things more noble than sharing your skills with others. DG

Been there, done that, but not in the winter when the bears are brilliantly white. Went to Churchill in 1990 around Thanksgiving, but I'm sure I could have used your tips then. Thanks for bringing back memories.
